We can ask friendly, we can demand harshly, it does not matter

They haven’t stopped communicating.

You’re exaggerating. They communicate irregularly. They recently communicated with us why they’ve been silent. They’re working on a lot of stuff they can’t talk about right now.

They want to tell us, but it isn’t ready and informing us early on about it would only lead to disappointment when stuff changes before release.

honestly they better stay silent, don’t know who’s fault but this game became hot garbage to its core

Lol, perfect.

It’s similar to what is happening with reaper currently.

They do respond to the “community”. They do interviews, streams, etc. They just don’t put the “forums” on top of their list of priorities. You need to realize that a lot of nonsense comes out of these forums and I’m sure whenever Jeff or whoever sits down to have a flick through them, they look for the meaningful stuff, which can be hard.

Probably someone young who has no idea what ‘bad games’ really look like.

the level of discourse here warrants absolute silence.

if they gave equal weight to every opinion here they’d have to respond to the kid who thinks genji should be able to deflect dva bombs.

at my job, when i get things done people say “great job, nice work, etc”. being a developer means when you do your job half of the people are happy but just continue silently playing the game, while the other half get peeved and start calling you names on forums.

by all means post your grievances, but i don’t think it is fair to expect responses. this isn’t like a youtube channel with only 2000 subs who has the time to respond to every “love your content!” comment. it’s the more vocal subset of the entire overwatch community on here.

and can we stop pretending like dev updates and patch notes don’t exist? these are legit ways they communicate their logic behind improving and balancingthe game. i don’t agree with a lot of the dumb stuff they’ve done for balance recently but they most definitely have an above average level of communication with community

You need to take a minute and think about how angry you’re getting about this 40$ piece of entertainment. There’s plenty stuff that actually matters to get angry about, some of us play games to get away from that.

Play to have fun. If its not fun, don’t play. It literally is that simple.

You can do it!

Well, while I agree the way people talk is not right…they ask them to talk to the devs like that. They ignore the majority of feedback, mostly listen to the pros. They have a discord where the devs talk to pros about balance changes while they treat the majority of the playerbase like babys without any opinion or impact.

Well, that’s the result.

Some people don’t realize that forums are not the only place where players leave their feedbacks for devs.
Blizz need to add forum for constructive criticism only, cuz when you open OW general discussion forum - you drawn in a sea of salt.
I’m pretty sure they read everything, but how Jeff said before in one of his devs update videos - they’d rather not to say anything, than say something and fail players expectations and make them angry.

Worse is when it comes to PTR and there is indeed feedback, but no changes. No matter how bad it is, its rare they even change anything on PTR.

And it wasn’t always like this.

They prefer to hide in other people’s streams over announcing officially what they are doing.

Yep, they straight up ignore the community once it hits the PTR. They act like everything they do is perfect from the start.

Sounds like an excuse that fits the profile “if you dont give me what i want, im going to rage” and “if you remain silent while i rage im going to accuse you of a bad communication”. A classic no win scenario.

Lets not forget there were feedback when it came to Mercy 2.0 and Bastions ironclad but well, we knew what happened.

Admitting mistakes is hard, my friend

Theres no such things as mistakes unless you admit to it.

Yeah, that’s why they never do mistakes.

Maybe if they did not hide for months at a time, people would not make a bog deal when they do bother

The suggestions/demands on the forums are pretty much all Bronze/Silver suggestions that would be utterly game breaking and can be summed up as “Supports and Tanks shouldn’t have to die!”

I’m surprised that devs even read the forums given some of the moronic stuff written here.

There are occasionally good suggestions and productive discussions, but separating the wheat from the chaff is not exactly straightforward here.
