Was the point of bans to make sure heroes are NEVER played?

It is a good thing.
If one character is banned the majority of the time in the majority of games, then the majority of the playerbase dislikes that character.

the first run was in 2020 and was called hero pools. Heros were banned, and as such, it was and is a hero ban system

We do a have a solution in mind – an actual system – that we’ll talk about (next week’s dev update) but it is not hero bans.

so again, the fact that voting is involved in a system does not innately make it a good thing.
