I don’t view RL/family obligations as a choice…regardless peoples gaming time can and often is limited

Sounds like we agree on quite a bit there actually…2nd paragraph almost entirely….(1 year by the way….first year BPs with challenges is $40…$30 thereafter…again it’s NOT about the money)
But no I am not the “just accept it” kind…especially when something should not be….I am the “educate people so that this type of stuff doesn’t happen in the future” kind
“Just accept it” is how you get stepped on and it’s how we got where we are….it’s why the goalposts move further every single year
i have to agree with Trilly here, living in the past will get us knowhere so whatever we got from OW1 it was done and gone. Also many OG developers left the company therefore OW2 was not going to be a “continuation” of OW1. I not going to lie, 5v5 got me very skeptical but i enjoy the change.
In regards to monetazation, shop is rediculious and also the progression in not there, hopefully changes will be implimement in Season 3. As is OW1 is dead and we all have to deal with it both good and bad
no, you just copied a word you hadnt known before after a quick google search told you what it was. but nice try ggez.
epic burn bruh! you absolutely destroyed him!!
if i did that, then ‘my apparent’ generation would start numerous world wars, cause massive inflation, and crash the economy numerous times in a single life time…wtf would i want to be that type of person?
you lack everything.
thats a strange take for sure. but since you cant comprehend anything i wont even bother
Hey man If you enjoy an inferior product and spending crazy amounts of money (being robbed really with the predation and the ridiculous pricing)…I’m not sure what to tell you
If OW1 had launched this way I probably just wouldn’t play it and that would be the end of it…something which I imagine many people are experiencing right now….
but given where we came from I think I’m quite entitled to be angry about it and I’m going to be vocal about it….it’s not acceptable what they’re doing….sorry not sorry to the people on the forums who just want to talk about how awful the balancing and matchmaking are for the 6th year in a row
You may not, but they are. All our choices have an effect on aspects of our lives. Battlepasses are geared toward those who choose gaming. If you want other things in your life that’s great, go for it, but the time for them has to come from somewhere, you can’t expect the gaming world to cater to you and your life choices or limited spare time as a result.
And that’s admirable, but you’re just one guy and trying to advocate for a square wheel after a round wheel has already been discovered and established. The fight against this sorta thing was years ago. There just weren’t enough people like you then fighting that fight, and now we’re here. So you keep fighting, maybe enough people will join you that you can spark change, but the amount of people I’ve seen in OW2 wearing shop skins tells me the fight is futile and all hope is lost.
You have the right to be angry but i am enjoying the game without spending any money on skins since i almost got all the skins from the first game.
Yes the game is not perfect and i also agree that balancing and matchmaking is quite bad. Not sure what you are trying to change but keep up the good fight i guess
ok, but remember that in this topic we are addressing the BP and its contents as an argument that penalize it from being an exclusive to … “cheaper to buy bundle”. Matchmaking, balancing, and 5v5 are other topics, but we’re talking about the “collecting” experience here.
From the developer article about the short term.
In Season 2, we’ve changed up our rewards a bit so that each event has a skin you can earn by playing, in addition to the other cosmetic rewards we already offer. We’re also going to continue our Twitch drops programs so that you can earn skins and in-game goodies by supporting your favorite creators. While we’re working on the long-term plans, we want upcoming seasons to feel more rewarding than Season 1.
the first thing that has been thought is that they change the monetization based on the coin. a silver coin when you pass a level to use in the gallery? the possibility of being able to buy a consolation prize like a simple voiceline at the end of a day? Maybe the prices change? or the amount of coins you can earn? And maybe the removal of the shop ban? let’s admit that this is exactly the list of things that many people thought.
yesterday’s article:
Each event this season will have a skin as a reward that you can earn simply by jumping in the fun and completing challenges—this includes Epic Ice Queen Brigitte, Legendary Winged Victory Mercy, and Legendary Kkachi Echo.
in a nutshell… the equivalent of the rewards of the challenges based on the skins decided by them, not on what you can choose to buy in the shop. And even worse with… 2 skins already existing in OW1. it’s almost exactly the feeling of when they dropped winston’s halloween skin extrapolated directly from an OW1 event: you still don’t decide what you would like to have, it’s just yet another limited-time promotion recycling old content.
Are we now entitled to say that Blizzard’s semantics in its pre-announcements always hide the scam in what it says? If you want I can give you many other examples besides this one. and some of them even from a functional point of view, not just from the gallery as we are analyzing it in this topic.
I think it can be a tough transition for everyone but I don’t see it as bad in itself
In general, I see cosmetics in games like Destiny or Guild Wars and realize that I can’t get 95% of them in time because I don’t want to spend money, simple as that. Most games don’t dump several skins and filler cosmetics each season.
Overwatch 1 did that and I collected everything, all while everyone complained about “no content, more trash skins??, another holiday event, give us new game modes, where’s the heroes! blah blah”.
I enjoyed getting the skins and hardly spent a dime in all those years (just bought one OWL skin and some loot boxes before they created farmable credits) so OW2 making that harder for me feels bad to me… but like, I can’t see it as a “bad thing” in general.
The team shouldn’t be shackled to whatever flow they created in the old game and if they give less, players should decide whether that is enough for this relationship or not and move forward. For me, the BP gives as much as I expect in any game (and I have used nearly all of Season 1’s cosmetics), I like the new modes and events ‘so far’, and the new heroes have been great and easy to attain (compared to something like Smash ultimate or any MMO where you need to just buy them outright).
Not sure what’s strange about saying that your transactions go straight into the bank accounts of a company with a long track record of abusing women, and is still working hard covering it up to this day. But hey, at least you got your skins, sprays, and Rammatra.
tbh the “quality of skins” just wasnt ever there with overwatch at least to me who played many f2p games especially mobas and shooters those are by far the laziest least worth any kind of money recolors no effects no new voice lines no new voice actor but 4 times the price (like r6 skins are bad but for 20 bucks i get everything i mentioned and u actually can main the characters ) agree 100% with the rest tho
You are wrong, there are many things that are wrong with the battlepass. The next mythic skin is low effort, cash skins are better, even though the MYTHIC is supposed to be the best skin.
widow skin is better but will cost twice as much as the battlepass for a skin they worked “ONE YEAR”.
I have 2300 credits on my account but most likely i’ll pass on the battlepass season 2.
