Whenever I open overwatch, or even just alt tab to it after its already open,a notifcation pops up from the windows security defender saying a threat was found called Trojan:Script/Oneeva.A!ml. And whenever I try to join a deathmatch or practice range it gets stuck on applying update and so never loads in. I don’t think Ive done anything on my computer that would cause a virus so what’s happening??

I got the same problem.
yeah same. i got like 5 notifications the moment i opened up overwatch in like 1 minute. it says that it came from overwatch in the defence manager. wtf is going on???
There was a Windows update tonight, so the definitions may be off. But I updated and whitelisted without any side effects.
Sounds like a false positive.
Is this a fix? Updated what? What’s whitelist? Has anyone here who was experiencing the issue fixed it?

Marking the game as a trojan is a false positive. When it popped up, I let Defender know that the game is not a trojan (whitelisting) and now it’s running without an issue.

Hey all,
We’ve bubbled this up. If you’re only getting this prompt while playing the game, click the Notification that you get. It should open your Protection HIstory from there. Click the Threat Found - Action Needed option and let windows defender know that the game file is fine by clicking “Actions>Allow” in the Windows Defender menu.
NOTE: This should only be done if it is only happening when you play Overwatch. Otherwise, scan your computer for threats and contact Microsoft for more help.
