That’s pretty much how Brig 2.0 works, especially with Tracer or any other flanker/duelist. The thing is your first priority is area denial. They will either get the better of you by getting frustrated and reckless or underestimate Brig, or you catch them off guard and are able to whip shot them bash etc. down. Its a decent match up now that often can go either way which means its more balanced than auto-delete Brig 1.0. Learning to shield flash and maneuver is key in Brig 2.0, she is not a static slow moving kit anymore, quite the opposite.
Thing is, after her rework, I keep hearing how fragile she is. That’s because people don’t realize she needs to stay back with her team and be an enforcer, not a front line hero.
If I had met this Reaper alone on the field, he would have killed me easily. The idea is to stay with your team and zone out threats, while throwing out armor packs, proccing inspire, and CC’ing etc.
Any tips to trigger inspire? I have a lot of difficulties triggering it when I go against an enemy with shield/s. Against two off tanks is fine (or the enemy has flanker/s) but when the enemy went double shield and didn’t have a flankers, I have a lot of trouble triggering it.
Yeah, it can be pretty hard. No choice really but to wait for the fight to “break”, or hope someone on the enemy team tries to flank. Honestly if I find it’s going to be a bunker/shield war, I switch to Baptiste to help with shield break.
But with the upcoming shield nerfs, Brig should be able to proc inspire much more easily. Not to mention the armor buffs. Ooh la la!
My personal opinion is that Brig is going to be sleeper OP. People still might not want to play her, because she’s not a killer DPS, and still can’t be on the front lines. But man, she’s gonna be effective.
I’m honestly afraid they’re going to nerf her soon…
I do a lot of Brig 2.0 and oiften maintain Inspire rates over 50%, so I get it. The thing is you have to use cover or position around your team which is what she should have to do. I mean a Reaper in the open against a tank is often going to win, he should kill Brig outright. The key now is you have to maintain very good game sense and positioning, so you can maintain Inspire, deflect flankers or tanks, and in turn move in to get damage when you can. When you really master Brig you can actually learn to shield flash and maneuver to get offensive… then you are really in the game with her.
She’s not meant to be a static defender like Rein, that’s the point. You have to factor in being maneuverable and staying in position. Everyone clamoring for a heavy shield is wanting to run her as a tank… she’s just not, the shield is a defense resource, nothing more.
In that clip the Reaper predictably jogged up the same steps just to get slammed in the noggin repeatedly by Brig’s mace. Good Reapers use teleport to sneak around to a different angle of attack, at the very least. I saw nothing in this video that’s particularly helpful Brig strategy against a Reaper that’s not insanely predictable.
My point was that it’s a question of strategy. The goal should be to keep Reaper away from the team, not to chase or kill him. And to save your whipshot / bash when you know he’s in the vicinity.
It’s to demonstrate that Brigitte Can be a viable pick against reaper if she’s on the lookout, contrary to those who say that she’s useless.
