Very high latency, dont know the issue

I ran OW through Looking glass and got these results

I don’t know what they mean but atm its only overwatch that doesn’t seem to be working, YouTube and everything work fine

Howdy Hugg,

That test didn’t provide a lot of information, so it’s difficult to determine what may be causing the problem. One way to help quickly narrow this down is to test another network like a mobile hotspot or a free VPN. If those work, then that indicates it’s likely something on the network. If not, then it may be due to something on the computer.

In this case though, we need to gather more information.

Please reply with a detailed list of steps you have already tried and a WinMTR test:

1. Download WinMTR (Console players need a Windows Desktop Computer connected to the same network as their console to do this.)
2. Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
3. Open the WinMTR folder and select the 64 bit version.
4. Without a VPN running, start the WinMTR.exe as Admin
5. Type the IP address you want to trace in the “Host” field. To get the correct IP you will actually need to open up the game and go Practice Vs AI or Quick Play and if you are on PC hit Ctrl+Shift+N and it will bring up the ingame network diagnostic graph, or go to Video > Options > Display Network Performance Graph if you are on any platform including Console. In the top left corner is the IP address you want to use in the WinMTR.
   
   Note: You will want to leave the colon and last 5 digits at the end off and only use the first four set of digits (for example, 24.105.13.114 in the screenshot without the :26535).
6. Once you notice the connection issue while playing, play for about 6 more minutes, minimize the game and click on “Stop”.
7. Click on “Copy text to clipboard”, then return to this forum thread.
8. Type two sets of four tildes (~) and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between: ~~~~ Paste WinMTR Test Results Here ~~~~

I was half way through doing this when i found out if i move my laptop to the other side of the room it works fine, so it seems its the distance of my desk from the router, thank you for the quick and detailed response though, very helpful indeed, excellent service
