Venture (season 10 dps) is nonbinary - they/them pronouns

Real world politics made it into the game. Fantastic. Not sure if this is something to be celebrated.

Of all the things you could leak about a character you leak this pronouns stuff… Or is it not leaked and Blizz is trying to score “progressive” points (which is possible)?

It isn’t.

Y’all just couldn’t wait till next June? Everyone had to come brigade this thread smh. Everyone on this forum wants to cry out “WhO CaREs!?!?” And then I see a 400 post reply about a hero being non binary. Can’t make this up

Probably because they arent at the stage yet where they settled on abilities, they just have the design and background story. The base idea is that its “non binary” the character. Just like Lifeweaver screams “pan sexual” the character.

the weapon is strange, kind of wondering what it does? drill but a melee drill lol… sounds kinda gruesome. they/them will be drilling peeps…

edit:
also i dont have voice/chat on but if i did i would mess up a lot… depending on what IT looks like i will call IT a him/her. ive messed up in real life too since yea im so old school that i just see IT how IT is…err yea. not that im trying to be mean or anything its just a slip of the tongue or brain fart. i sometimes forget that someone wants to be LABELED a certain way

The game has always had politics in it. Literally the biggest, most notable one being Mondatta, political figure who as killed for his beliefs. We got terrorists and freedom fighters and countries living in poverty and disarray because of ongoing wars n all that garbage.

Politics isn’t just stuff you don’t like, yknow.

but they can burrow underground and move, thats what matters

Another fictional character in an FPS. Unless they fire pronouns as weapons, it really REALLY does not matter.

this thread is gonna reach 1000 comments no sooner than the 6-7th i am betting on it

LMAOOOO

I…don’t think you’re entirely correct. No, I think it is the suits that push people to follow trends and design characters. I wish it was as simple as “the artists decided here’s how the character will be”, but I’m pretty sure everything is calculated in a way to make the most money.

That’s why, if you truly want autonomy, you’d be an independent creator.

Preach my friend if everyone had this attitude the world would be a better place.

Even if they don’t enact it themselves, all it takes is enough people reporting you for you to be automatically action’d, and people will 1000% report for this.
Edit: Oh look, it’s already starting!

Again, I said I have no issue with it; I’m just saying what the true intention is. They’re not trying to push any “woke agenda”, they’re not making the game “political”, they’re just doing what they believe to be the best choice marketing wise. Representation in character oriented media will always bring a lot of people in and buy positive PR. Once again, I have no problem with doing so because as you said, representation in of itself is a good thing.

And I have someone in mind who should be the first admittance.

what games are you in where you see an enemy and say “he/she” is there? youd say their name because nobodys gonna know who youre talking about.

Thanks for saying this. People will ignore that, when ultra bad capitalist man donates billions to underprivileged people, those people still get billions. There’s a point where you have to say “who cares if he’s doing it for his image. He’s helping” when it comes to rich people.

Of course, you have a ton of people literally propagandized by youtube influencers. Despite not lifting a finger to help the poor, they’ll say “it doesn’t matter if the rich people do it. eat the rich!” and other nonsense.

I’m not going back in, and I don’t care what you say to me. I’m far beyond help at this point.

We live in an age where if you disagree with a certain thing, don’t like it or don’t believe in it, people silence and get rid of you instead of trying to change your mind, because you’re “evil” and they hate your guts.

Personally I don’t care too much. I call the cowboy Cassidy so I don’t upset people I talk to and I’ll use they/them pronouns for this character, but the fact that someone can say “I don’t really like this non-binary character” and get flagged and banned for it is ridiculous to me.

Same thing happens with certain characters on the forums. If someone says “Mercy is suuuuuuper easy to play you just press a few buttons” they get mass flagged and banned instead of people trying to change their mind about how the character actually plays, which just proves in their minds that they’re right about the character.

It’s just the accepted form of bigotry. Ironic that it comes from those who claim bigotry around every corner.

When you already said the name and establish the hero, its shorter to refer to the pronoun. Example:

“Sombra is one” “Where is she” “Shes running to the mega”
So in the case of the new hero people will just not use the pronoun and always say “Venture” just to avoid confusion and not to offend anybody if you dont get it right even though the name is longer to say.

“Venture is one”
“Where is she?”
“Venture uses they/them pronouns, I’m reporting you”
“Ok well now they’ve escaped”
