Valkyrie will be inherently useless in OW2

Why even use Valkyrie when the damage just keeps on coming? If the Devs do not plan for a small buff to Valkyrie with all the DPS changes, then you might as well bring back Mass Rez for a “Take 2”. Lul.

If you use Valkyrie for healing then I’m sorry but you don’t know how to use the ultimate

It’s used for killing and killing only.

I think all Valk will need for OW2 is a rez cooldown decrease, though personally the idea of valking mercy with NO rez cooldown is awesome, like suddenly a valking mercy is a threat and a target that uncontested could rez like three people.

it’s largely useless now anyways regardless of whether you use it to heal, boost, res or pistol given how easy it is for enemies to force you into healing which they can easily burst through. :unamused:

tbf, seems like in OW2 teammates will be dead before they’d be able to make use of damage boost for whatever duration valks gonna be anyways. :upside_down_face:

Dead before healing can do anything also.

I feel like all they have done is make tank and support more appealing for DPS players to play while pushing the players who like tank and support away from the game entirely.

Why do people make blanket statements like this? There are situations where you absolutely need to valk for healing, else the entirety of your team will die.

You worry about valk? Rez is literally more concerning than valk

Valk’s issue is lasting 15 seconds when team fights are going to last 6-8 seconds anyways. Valk should have its duration cut to 6-8 seconds like the other transformation ults in exchange for its power being condensed accordingly.

Get rid of e rez, Press Q again in Valk for e rez but it’s instant. Now rez is tied to an ultimate and doesn’t need any cast time or movement restrictions.

It’s called a situational ultimate for a reason.

then you can just hard guarantee a team fight win with a single ult. i dont see the issue

if an ults situational then its kinda bad dude.
why would to play hero whos ult is only useful half the time when you can just play bap or ana where even a bad ult has value?

i also dont think it is situational. its used to engage or to counter an engage. thats not exactly hard conditions to meet

not with valk :upside_down_face:

why not? its a damage boost for the majority if not the entirety of your team.
if your team can die fast then so can the enemy. i really dont see your issue.

Very true, and current rez is replaced with burst healing outside of valk, 150 hp with 5 sec CD. Now mercy is good enough for all the changes that will go through in OW 2

You didn’t read the comment I was replying to.

Valkyrie is situational in the sense you can use it for either healing or boosting. BUT, depending on the situation of the team fight, you have to decide whether it’s to HEAL or to BOOST because the way Valkyrie is versus the incoming game changes, you are going to have to choose either instead of doing both.

You said it yourself that everyone will die before healing could sustain them. Now why would mass damage boost from valk would be useless?

If Rez becomes an ult, make it a Pulse Bomb sized aoe with a cast time that can Rez anyone inside it

that’s not situational though. that’s just the ult having multiple uses.
one of which is significantly stronger than the other because one (mass healing) can be achieved without an ult simply by playing a different hero.

and just remove any value grav could have potentially had?
youd make one hero useless while making another marginally better
