User threatening to post my battle tag on cp telegram

It is as the title says. A player in my game was so tilted from losing that he started to make threats to post my btag in cp telegrams. Blizzard should not be allowing people like this to play their games. I do not think that having someone who openly admits to being in cp telegrams should be playing this game, and should probably be locked up somewhere for being so disgusting. I did report them, but felt the need to make this post as someone at Blizzard needs to see this and permaban their account, as this certainly seems to violate community guidelines and standards. The link below is the imgur link with proof and the users tag. Hopefully Blizzard will take some sort of action. I have screenshots of the messages and the users tag but am unsure of how to reach out to anyone at Blizzard with this proof.

battletags are not personally identifying unless you also have the #### after it and even then, only Blizzard knows who it belongs to.

tl;dr it was an empty threat and nothing will happen to you, or the person who threatened this.

well, in the meantime, report it. and if you find that you have seen your battletag published, contact support again indicating the aforementioned telegram group, given that in that specific case you can take legal action and blizzard take down the entire social / btag circuit of that user if you he’s bullying a coalition.

in any case I understand the anxiety of what happened but… there is no concern for a reason: the user cannot inform other users to report you if those users have not played with you at all in their last games, and doing so would constitute an invalidation from their report just because an user provided them your btag.

In my opinion you can stay calm for now, but a piece of advice: when they tell you that they will report you because they are too angry… ignore them. they are not worth your time or a psychological session that lasts that match carried out by you: stupidity cannot be resolved like this, and you have all the tools to simply report them for offensive chat (when they actually are) and block them. probably most of the time those who make threats of this type are looking for your reaction to allow them to report offensive chats to you, deceiving the system as to who is right in the reporting.

However, I would contact support to ask for advice on whether it is appropriate to change the login credentials of the btag account for safety reasons. We don’t know if you’ve had to deal with a troll who’s a bit of a hacker. but just ask for advice, don’t panic.

I would not worry if I were you, your battle tag is useless info.

I am more considered with said player having access to those kinds of telegrams to begin with. If anything he should be more worried because you can now report him to blizzard who would most likely report him to the police or at least keep him on record.

Which would do what, exactly? Weird threat

Why do you think you’re relevant enough for someone to care about you?

How are you, suppose to know what someone’s gonna do before they do it, world would be a better place if we were privy to that forethought…

This. So sorry this is happening to you. The player is obviously a scummy little scum lord and likely 14. Don’t lose a thought to this, though. It is empty threats and definitely something he and his friends heard from an older sibling and told each other around a lunch table. There’s absolutely nothing a battletag will do.

You’ll be fine, but the degenerates are here to stay, thanks to ftp.

Whoever said that did so knowing it would get the strongest reaction from you. They likely have no intentions of doing so.

Report them. Block them. Open a ticket with customer service specifically stating what this person said to you.

You can open a ticket here: Blizzard Support

Posting your battletag anywhere would be absolutely worthless because it can’t be linked directly to you as a person. They don’t know your name, address, or even what country you’re in. It’s a random identifier for use with Blizzard games only.

Only Blizzard staff would be able to see any personally identifiable information linked to your account.

Your battletag can also be changed, so there’s no point. It’s an empty threat of a terrible thing, designed to shake you up. It’s still a terrible thing to say to someone.
