Unnecessary hog buff

he always had it, people like you who say his one shot is back don’t know the hero. this still isn’t ow1 one shot where u can just shoot anywhere and melee and it will kill. since most squishies have 250hp you still have to aim for the head to one shot, just like before, it just made it a little more consistent since it was bad before.

If they brought back his one shot consistency, then I’m uninstalling this game.

In this era of not having a clue on how to fix Sombra, I dunno why they’re so adamant on creating even more balancing problems for themselves.

Idk. These devs have a habit of making sure unhealthy characters for the game, remain unhealthy. It’s like they can’t help themselves or something.

That’s why I’m confident they’ll botch the next Sombra rework :person_shrugging:t4: Actually anticipating to see how badly they’ll fumble :sob:

Bad news for you… It’s super consistent.

At this point, there’s just so many voices and they are lost. I do not blame them.

Too beta. They need to learn when to rip off the bandaid.

I am scared, but I doubt it could be worse than virus.

says the person with the winton pic xD

Been noticing matches where Hog players refuse to push up because of the other Hog, and desperately need a shield tank to help.

It makes matches where teams without any sort of shield tank rather… uneventful.

Back to why 5v5 wasn’t the best move. You have all these off-tanks trying to be main-tanks and its quite disastrous.

To compensate they just buff tanks to where they are just fat dps, instead of actual tanks.

This sort of thing happens in 6v6 a lot, too.

Happens in 6v6 because people lack a main tank. This game was originally designed to have a main tank and an off tank, 5v5 took away that dynamic.

Well, yeah, you need someone to bait hook if he is camping a ledge. I thought that was common sense, but given my teammates… I totally lied. This is sacred top 500 knowledge actually. Walk on the freaking point and die for me. Don’t worry, Papa will do the rest.

Do you know someone who likes his playstyle and is not a Hog main?

The agreement on the fact that he was too oppressive and unfun to play against is what led to the rework.

It’s a fact that the vast majority of people don’t like to be hooked across the map and one shot and have no possibility to do anything about it but play insanely far and hide around corners all the time as if a killer was chasing them. Now a killer who probably has the highest heals in the game. As people don’t like that a stealth hacker chases them all game and makes them play like a paranoid schizophrenic fighting ghosts.

I have a conspiracy theory. Blizzard is just changing things for the sake of it. Just to have bullet points in their patches. After all this is a so called “live service” game. Gotta have the appearance of constant change. Even if it is absolute nonsensical.

Don’t misunderstand, I am all for evolving a game over time, making changes where changes are needed. But particularly this game it just appears like Blizz is changing things for the sake of it. I have seen no one complain about Hog for months now (granted I barely play the game and am barely active in the community, so maybe I missed the mega wave and petitions to change Hog lol) yet Blizzard in their infinite wisdom just reverts him back. And now the struggle begins anew. Why? Really, why?

Isn´t that just personal preference? I mean I don´t like it very much when a Widowmaker insta-kills me as soon as I walk around the corner but that´s just how Snipers are and I must work with like not going the most obvious paths.
The same case with Roadhog and Mauga who are big buff guys who pressure the enemy in being deadly close-up but also having abilites to sustain themselves and reduce the difference between their target.
If you get hooked by Roadhog and eliminated than either you were not paying attention or the Roadhog was tactical in his approach to get you.

I’ll make you a deal: nuke Hog and Widow. :sunglasses::handshake::slight_smile:

Rework hook so that it works like a mini Mauga ult for one person.

The hooked enemy can’t use movement abilities and can’t exit a radius around hog, but can still move and use non movement abilities. This lasts for X amount of time. Maybe hooked enemy can’t use primary fire? Maybe they get reeled in slowly? Maybe hog can move around and pull them along with? Lots of options.

Then, buff either hogs gun or other aspects of his kit in some way to complement him as an “arena trap” tank. Maybe give him a new ability like genji deflect where he absorbs projectiles into his belly and reflects it all back in one big shot after X amount of time.

I wouldn’t say it’s unnecessary but it was a bit much. I don’t think he should be able to Hook + Shoot + Melee = kill 300hp heroes.

He needed a damage compensation for Pig pen being scrapped but they went a bit overboard for sure.

Or I just brute forced the hook because his team is as bad as mine.

The problem isn’t hog. Hog could be balanced to be more fun for everyone. But with Ana in the game, and Ana in EVERY SINGLE GAME you play as hog below diamond, Hog has to be balanced so he is playable in those games.

That means when there is no Ana (or Zen) then he can be hard to deal with. The exact same goes for Mauga and, to a lesser extent, a couple of other tanks Ana affects the most.

Without anti-nade doing 100% heal blocking, some tanks could be adjusted to reduce their survivability for a world without being destroyed every fight by Ana throwing an easy, low aim, ability at them.

Ana is the problem with these tanks, not the tank design itself. If you want a more fun experience against hog and mauga then get rid of anti and rebalance them around that.

That if often said but just isn’t true. I’m a hog player and it definitely helps to avoid being hooked when I play other roles. But sometimes you just have to be within hook range with little cover to use or there is cover but you have to be going in and out of it to do damage or heal your team.

You can greatly reduce your chance of being hooked by being very conscious of what hog is doing and LoSing it as much as possible, but it’s still likely you’ll get hooked a couple of times in the game.

And the tank can’t really avoid being hooked.

Watch Cyx with what you said in mind and you’ll see how nonsense it is. Champ players still get hooked and they know what they’re doing.
