I play most roles, have recently been focusing on Tank/Support just because my normal gaming group needs those roles. All 5 of us uninstall each time the DPS passive is buffed because it just feels like one dps that slightly isn’t up to snuff on either side and you get rolled. One person having a slightly off game? You lose. One person on enemy team feeling it, you lose. All it takes is one DPS and the entire game is decided.
Collectively deciding as a group we’d rather not play than play into a 20% dps passive. Feels bad man. Game finally felt good again the past few weeks, feels like garbage.

I don’t fault anyone for uninstalling the game.
If they’re not having fun, they’re not having fun.

Not going to play either. People dying in 1 sec now. Every game zen discord +dps passive = everyone melting in 1 sec.
Game is trash again.

They really have no idea what to do. How are you gonna reduce it, then give buffs to the other two classes to combat it, and then increase it back to where it originally was, undoing all the buffs you gave.

Its a shooter. If you can deny all value then whats the point of trying to go for kills. Need i remind you season 8 dps queue was instant because no one wanted to play against invincible support. People are celebrating the orisa nerfs for this very reason
Because supports had gotten gigabuffed it was never that DPS were bad its that supports were to good. Now just like the entirety of OW2 tank players are getting the short end of the stick and a horrible game experience

If things die too easily what’s the point in peaking cover? Or playing support? Or playing anything that doesn’t do burst damage? Or leaving spawn room? Can’t die in there!
5v5 is impossible to balance. It comes down to which aspect of the game feels less annoying when it’s too strong.
Support is where it’s at. High sustain > things die less > people are playing the game.
DPS too strong > die too easily to easy to use abilities (dps have an abundance due to them being spoilt for choice) > watch respawn timer > less time actually playing the game.
I think most of the community agree that playing the game is better than dying on cd coz damage is too easily applied.

game is not trash none asked
Not sure if you ppl realise this but ppl saying this are literally admitting to being unable to hit any headshots while missing a sizable chunk of their body shots to feel that way.

Yes thank you for making my point even better. Abilities like suzu grip and lamp have such low skill ceilings that they deny everything an avarage player can manage. Sounds like a blast right loggin on overwatch once per week and not being able to get a single elim. Feels like crap right? Any kiriko can suzu their feet and tp through a wall. Not every soldier 76 can hit consistant enough headshots to kill kiriko. So the sulotion is to give soldier aimbot make it fair right? Or maybe just maybe remove abilities like suzu. Replace them with abilities that at the skill ceiling will save you but at floor if missused will get you punished.

What did you really mean: “Supports need to heal everyone, kill everyone, and be able to never die, having free value to escape combat whenever we want. We’ve been the most broken role in the game since forever, now we have to use 1% of our brain I will give up on the game due to my lack of skill”

This has genuinely never been the case…
If you weren’t able to get kills you were either playing a hero who you weren’t mechanically practiced enough on, or weren’t positioning and approaching fights correctly.

So DPS should just be able to misplay and still roll people???

Sounds to me like you have bigger problems than the abilities you’ve complained about if you can’t manage a single kill.
yeah no positioning beats suzu. support players are delusional. im not arguing you should be able to missplay and still roll. im arguing that the fight between a kiriko and a soldier no matter the rank or skill will ALWAYS favor the kiri or the bap or brig or moira. on the contrary if you need suzu and tp through wall to save you isnt that bad positioning? isnt that mechanicly lacking? yet the soldier dies in that scenario the kiri survives. season 7 and 8 proved that. the dps passive exist because of support being too strong.
and instead of a constructive and factual argument you’re going to attack me personally. players like you are the reason the game is so crap. toxicity is your first thought. you dont care about if other players are enjoying the game. as long as your heroes get to stay op. and im with you i think dps passive is dumb. i think support should be fun. but it shouldnt take away the fun of the other players

Could they just make up their mind already? I’m sick of having to relearn stuff every month it messes with muscle memory

the result of poor balance and uneven distribution of power between the roles. 5v5 and the power creep balance philosophy will just keep getting worse. you said it best no one wants to die off cd yet no one wants their kills denied.
tanks are suffering. season 7 and 8 had the highest sustain and dps players stopped playing. instant dps queues. and instead of nerfing supports properly they gigabuffed dps making the game worse for both support and tank[and tanks where already struggling before]. high sustain isn’t what makes ow fun its what’s killing ow. if we right now remove dps passive. tanks and dps would both be suffering. if we buff tanks supports will suffer if we buff dps tanks and supports suffer. there is no equal fun unless we distribute power equally. and how do we do that? 6v6

Who’s the support player?
I’m a DPS main.
And yes, positioning beats suzu. Being in a position to get the cool down out and not overcommit and die for it is positioning.
This just isn’t true… At all. Even before the DPS passive.
The only one that’s remotely true for is Baptiste because of IF and his dueling potential.
Not necessarily. If you’re going against dive, there’s often literally no good position if you’re playing a dive target. There’s just flavors of less bad.
And while Kiriko isn’t a dive target, if she gets jumped on by dive it’s not necessarily emblematic of bad positioning.
However, it definitely can be used to get away with bad positioning. It’s a very strong ability and probably the most forgiving escape ability in all of pvp gaming. But Kiriko isn’t the entire support roster.
How am I being toxic?
Mathematically, every DPS hero who isn’t Mei had enough DPS to go through healing if they were played correctly.
It’s not like I didn’t miss kills before, and players much better than me did as well. But that’s because we misplayed. That’s not a balance issue.
Support being able to prevent any kills at all is “preventing the fun of other players.”

How are you losing to Moira and brig on S76? Brig has to be in melee range you don’t. Moira has 60dps you have double that + helix
