Out of curiosity, did you listen to an audio recital of the patch notes or something? 13 sounds a lot like 30 aloud, but it’s pretty hard to misread it in text.
Anyway, the change seems pretty minor. It’ll give her a little extra room when kiting certain tanks, Reaper, and Mei, but I don’t expect it to affect much else.
not really? the falloff wasn’t really the main reason she did no damage at range, it’s her spread. so basically this only helps against heroes with big hitboxes
Thank you! I been trying to point this out. This of course is not to devalue how important those 3M are, it’s just that it’s only going to effect Tracers effectiveness on larger targets. Tanks and 250 HP heros.
My money says the spread quite literally cancels out the extra damage that comes with the increased falloff “buff.”
You’re getting extra damage per bullet with an additional 3m, but with that additional 3m also comes additional spread, with bullets deviating further from the axis of the gun barrel in the X direction and thereby missing any target other than a tank or barrier.
This is a shield break buff and little more. And after having spent 1.5 years in the dumpster waiting for this filth, I’m pretty damn pissed.
That’s not really true. While 13m isn’t exactly optimal fighting distance against smaller targets, she’ll still do proportionally the same amount of extra damage anytime she has to fight at that range, no matter what she’s shooting at.
I mean that’s fine if they own up to it. I have a hard time believing they conveniently disappeared a minute or two after their last post, which is when the other person corrected them.
It won’t because her spread will miss on smaller targets critbox while more pellets have a chance of landing on tank’s heads.
Yeah i feel like instead of a damage buff this is more of an “option buff” now tracer can be a bit more pokey before full engaging which gives her a few more options. Really like the feel of it
Moira is no counter to a Tracer. Tracer can one clip people from 13 meters now, can stay on high ground with no fall off damage too.
As for Moira, she can’t heal herself that well anymore. Tracer will win a 1v1 easily because Moira will be forced to use a healing orb or Fade away. Even then, Tracer can one clip Moira getting healed by an orb or chase her with Blink if she Fades.
Tracer buff is outrageous. People will complain about no Tracer counters again. Just watch.
Meh, I don’t know. I’m no Tracer main but fighting at longer distance against squishies who have range doesn’t ever seem like a good idea. It makes her blinking far more predictable and easier to track. The best Tracers (or the ones I have problem with anyway) blink around you in close distances so they can get behind you with ease.
It just seems that extra 3M are more geared for heros like Reaper, Doom, Mei, Brig and tanks. Heros who have stronger close range dps. This way she can have a little more forgiving firepower when trying to keep them at arms length.
Oh, definitely. You don’t really want to be at that range against most squishies, but sometimes their nearby teammates make it too risky to get closer, or things like Lucio, Mercy, and Pharah can keep their distance vertically.
Dude, we’re trying to discuss a very controversial buff for a hero who’s been trash for a very long time, and we can’t have the conversation getting derailed by misinformation like this.
Not trying to sound rude but if your only knowledge of Tracer is the mythical forum Tracer, then I’m not sure how you can contribute effectively to this thread.
Not really. With the beam size your tracking can actually be fairly off and still do a ton of a damage. Tracking with tracer or soldier is much much harder than tracking with either of those beams. I won a lot of games half assing aim with sym and it was not fun for me or the people I was stomping. it was good that the bug fix made damage consistent but they now need to balance it out, to where before the damage was hit or miss but it could have big pay offs.
That’s fine but you don’t suddenly improve your aim on tracer live either. They just made her not have to commit in distance.
To reward aim-, you could have just buffed her bullet dmg. They did not. They did in fact lack her positioning requirements which imo is more aim related than symm or zarya who already had that aim.
