the sad part is that they knew tracer was that good that they had to release goats brig in the first place they probably were like this character needs armor for tracer a stun for tracer be able to give armor to counter tracer a 1 shot tracer combo ability for tracer a ability that takes half her health away just for tracer aoe healing that messes up tracer a character needed to have that just to counter tracer in the first place lol

If Tracer is overpowered, it certainly isn’t when I’m playing her. She might be one of if not the top DPS in capable hands. But that is a very small minority of players that applies to.

Yeah… super rough how tracer now soft counters Brig. Doesn’t feel good as a Brig player to have Tracer constantly able to get out of your range teleporting and flanking you all the time, especially knowing her original purpose was to counter Tracer. Imagine if they nerfed Moira so much conceptually that Genji soft countered her… :confused:

no hero has one
the closest we have is phara
the best example of one was brigitte
I dont want tracer to not be viable but I think she has been the best hero in the game for too long
because yes she does do too much damage with too much mobility and to top it off a get out of jail free card

she is the reason stuns exist
she is the reason mcree has such a large flashbang radius
she is the reason brigitte was launched in such a state

Tracer is allowed to be overpowered because she’s the main character of the game.

extremely high damage (more than most ultimates), highest HP for a DPS, and if he wants to reposition, hes basically a soldier 76 with a heal whenever he wants.

see the flaw in your logic?

You know, if there’s a really good Tracer on the enemy team, and I happen to be playing a DPS, I happily switch to Sombra and hack the heck out of Tracer until the player eventually is forced to switch. And yes, this has happened on many occasions and it has worked successfully.

I love when DPS players say that when supports complain that a particular match being too one sided.

Mate, I guarantee you. I would’ve wrecked you in that same match if I was in the DPS role myself. It’s kind of hard to fight off tracer when doomfist and hog are also constantly hard focusing on killing you all game.

This was in QP so obviously I’m not going to get any peeling and you get teammates who look like bots. Oddly enough, I was actually able to outplay the enemy Tracer once in a while as soon as I switched to baptiste and started shooting her. I did also heal my team of course, but sometimes healing your feeding teammates isn’t going to do anything. Even though I could kill the tracer, there was still that doomfist and hog that was wrecking my entire team and it’s not really possible for me to frag them all by myself with baptiste’s toy gun. If I was tracer though, things would’ve been A LOT different.

Regardless, I think Tracer is quite balanced now. It’s just that other roles besides DPS lacks the counter to deal with her effectively, especially supports. If you’re a support, you’re always at a disadvantage no matter which hero you pick.

They already did. You don’t have to imagine it.

I’m not saying that tracer herself is overpowered, but I’m saying that the concept of multiple dodges with a dodgy hitbox and consistently easy to use, powerful damage output is.

Nope.

I also see that bastion is conceptually extremely powerful, but in practice is exploitable.

Proving my point, a concept may seem overpowered, but in reality its not

Watched a video of a Tracer AD strafing in front of freaking Defran when he was on Widow and even he kept missing his shots. How is a normal player supposed to deal with that?

Required note that Tracer’s range was buffed 30% to help her deal with turrets better. Because, you know…we can’t have Tracer actually being countered in a game about swapping.

They did actually partially revert that buff.

The vast majority of forum dwellers seem to believe that A/D spam is a “skill”

I understand why the devs wanted to not have movement acceleration, to make the game feel responsive, but on some heroes it just feels cheap when their hitbox gets all wonky and difficult to hit when they strafe spam, like Tracer and Lucio.

Just replace “overpowered” with “terrible” and now it fits both lol

Thats correct and torb turret is probably best counter, it’ll be further solidified as a strong counter if the fall off buff for tracer was reverted.

I say it as someone who absolutely loves playing tracer and its prob the hero I find most fun outside of the tank role, and tracer takes massive skill, but yes shes too strong by design.
