I mean, Tracer always was “le heckin’ wholesome cringe”, that’s like her schtick. So I can forgive that provided it doesn’t insist on itself too much.

That’s dva’s gamer personality, but she does also have voice lines which makes one question it, like “are you sure life isn’t a game soldier 76?” But she does have gaming related voicelines, like “time to raise my apm” so she’s not off personality wise at least.

Moira - Sussy
Mercy - PMA e-girl

And so on.

having played most of the supports they are different. mercy is the most outstanding offish to me tho. i can see why people would hate it but i actually loved it. she sounds so animated and into her job. the voice acting is off a little bit but im sure its the same voice actress??? lucie pohl i think her name is (the english version)

Ughhh, the Mercy ones were so awkward. They also play way too often. Nearly every beam attachment, guardian angel, and jump involves her saying something in a weirdly chipper and way too high-pitched voice.

Maybe its just me, but I thought her German accent is just more apparent now. Which is either a sign of stress, or maybe her brain really is degenerating.
she probably works 24/7 or has a busy schedule (different projects). i dont know personally but it could be a sign heh
i wouldnt want to be a voice actor. imagine trying to be someone/something your not 24/7

Well, I’m not a professional voice actor, but I am voicing a character for my videos right now. For me, it doesn’t feel like I’m trying to be someone I’m not. It just feels like working.
Actually, someone told me she sounded like a younger version of Ashe when she says that line, and I can’t get that imagery out of my mind now.

Ugh, who wrote these even? Can we even have a serious pve mode if characters get flandarized like this?

I don’t think tracer sounds cringe but mercy does sound alittle silly.
Just hopped into the beta few hours ago and this is what i think about the new voicelines:
Mercy definitely the most cringey of all, no longer being a pacifist healer and has become a mad doctor high on their own supply. Her new voicelines definitely pairs well with her redesigned karen look, which is bad.
Tracer is getting more annoying…nuff said.
But the one that i like most is D.Va. Her new voicelines are my personal favorite in the beta.
loved her sassy, high-pitched gamer girl voice, She’ sounded just what i always think about her. Clearly a step up from the OW1 version.
OW2 D.Va is so entertaining that i decided to exclusively queue as tank just to pick her and proceed to win 3 matches in a row. Playing Mercy on the other hand only gave me anxiety instead.

Orisa’s at least makes sense given that she’s no longer “still new at this” and has even driven Doomfist out.
Please dont let this be true, i get her being sassy and such but lore wise she is easily one of the best and most complex characters. She has so much potential, I dont want her to be generec evil scientist.

Edit: Actually, after paying attention more to her new voice lines I can understand what you mean. Some of the voice lines are kinda goofy.

I killed a bot in the Practice Range and Tracer said: “Aaaaawwwww… ‘avin’ a bad daaaay?”
I thought, ‘b****, sit down. It’s a Training Bot?’
That is NOT Tracer. There’s no fun in that voice line. It’s not lighthearted. It’s (and I KNOW this sounds proper snowflake) mean. It’s somewhere on the spectrum of bullying.
And I don’t mind that for characters for whom it’s appropriate. But Tracer is warm and fun and kind, and her personality in matches has always been positive, fun, and sometimes too honest (e.g.) “That felt GOOD!” when killing Widow.
I know heroes will develop from OW1 to OW2, but please don’t turn Tracer into a jerk. Or any heroes that don’t suit that sort of character development!
PS: OW2 is too fast and deadly and I hate Ana and Mercy Beam and Discord are too strong. Peace.

Did they do something with Mercy’s pitch? Her voice sounds… less deep? More “head voice” than “chest voice”.
