Banning over trash talk is next level stupidity. You have block, you have mute, you have account silences, and you have a chat filter. There is no reason to be banned for chat. Go and mute people for a year.
It doesn’t help anything. In fact it forces migration to alt accounts, pollutes the matchmaking in competitive constantly. Nobody is winning in this situation, the root cause of toxicity is never being addressed, and they’d rather put a bandage “fix” over it.
You’re telling me they have so many designers and innovative thinkers, yet they can’t think of, let’s say, making offensive messages invisible to everyone but the sender, so the sender assumes it’s sent but nobody sees it? Do you have any idea how this simple feature would mask many cases of short-temper without causing further escalation into silences and account bans?
