Torbjorn is not Brigitte's dad, genetics prove it!

Moira is actually Brigitte’s dad.

I mean, Matilda, who is Brigitte’s VA mains Moira for a reason yah?

Hate to break it to you but that’s more universal and if anything you would find more libs in favor.

The gene modification aspect is considered playing god by most cons and that’s part of why its banned

I mean tbh genetics is weird.

the kids have 50/50 chance of getting the dominant gene from Torb or not.
So according to theory half of them should get it. But statistics and nature work in weird ways. Example: me and my brother had 50% chance of being blonde with blue eyes, but both have brown hair with brownish-hazle eyes. My friends kids had the same 50% chance and one of her kids is blonde and one is a brunette.

Also Im not sure what type of dwarfism the people from ‘‘little people big world’’ have but 3 out of 4 of their kids didnt inherit dwarfism despite both of the parents having it.

Sooo, genetics is weird with these things.

P.S. The only really weird thing genetics wise is that Brig is probably not their kid. Unless there are pics I havent seen, it basically genetically near impossible for 2 blondes to have a child with brown hair and eyes.

True, that is something I forgot to bring up, thanks!

Or perhaps it could be due to an environmental factor. Torb might’ve been malnourished or simply didn’t grow much

We’ve only seen one of Torbjorn’s children - the other kids seen in Reflections are his grandchildren. It’s possible that some of Brigitte’s siblings may have dwarfism.

It was confirmed a while back that the kids bar briggite from the christmas comic are his grandkids not his own kids. Thus we only know one child, which is brig. And one dwarf does not statistics make.

Or… he’s just short

How is it unlikely? Most people aren’t dwarves so we can assume he’s heterozygous meaning his kids have a 50% chance to be normal height. That isn’t VERY unlikely.

title: “not brigitte’s dad”

so…
you can’t adopt children, making them your children?
that’s not a thing in the future?
or it has some kind of different meaning?

Weird place to ask this but can you tell me the average time it takes for scars from surgical I&D (on chest/breast tissue) to fade? I had one two years ago and the scar is still EXTREMELY prominent. I know it’s off topic but you’re probably the best person to ask, lol.

On topic, isn’t it also very much possible to screen and select embryos/fetuses for dwarfism in the case of IVF? If so, wouldn’t it also be possible to screen for dwarfism and electively terminate in a typical pregnancy as well?

Not saying that Torb and Ingrid went about aborting all their children until they had ‘normal’ ones, but it’s just another possibility for why they might not have any children that display dwarfism.

pffft haha. nerd.

Good try though. <3
(Maybe one of his kids is a dwarf, we haven’t seen them grown up)

But Torb isn’t human; he’s a fantasy dwarf.

i know a guy who suffers from dwarfism. none of his kids have it.

He’s not a dwarf.

Statistics also play a factor here. The more you have children without a particular trait, the more likely you are to have children in the future that don’t have that particular trait, even though probability wise they should be 50/50.

This has a biology component to reaffirm that statistical likelihood – if Torb had multiple kids all without dwarfism, it’d be a logical assumption that the sex cells that Torbjorn produces with dwarfism are somehow fewer in number, or are significantly less healthy than the non-dwarf sex cells, thereby having more non-dwarf children.

King Henry faced this issue – even though having a male heir was technically 50% probability-wise, he didn’t produce a male heir until his fourth wife.

There is also the fact that Torb is blonde, his wife is blonde and Brig is a redhead.

I’m so sick of seeing these threads.
It’s not impossible for a father to have a trait that his daughter doesn’t.

But hey… That’s just a theory. A game theory! And cut!

It’s possible if they both carry redhead genes.
