Too many win challenges

This is all the win challenges you gotta do each week…

Win a game
Win 10 games
Win 7 games as all roles
Win 15 games in unranked or comp
Win 5 games in arcade
Win 3 games as each of the roles

This makes losses feel so much more tilting, and you’ll be getting a lot when the matchmaker decides it’s your turn to lose for 5+ games or more,

just taking turns getting a stomp chain then getting stomped in a chain, it makes challenges SO much more frustrating and time consuming

Blizz get more creative with challenges besides “win a bunch as anyone in any mode”

From today’s March 7 patch notes, jesus they just can’t STOP

  • Added a new challenge, “Casual Dedication - Win 15 games in any Unranked mode.”
  • Added a new challenge, “Competitive Advantage - Win 10 games in any Competitive mode.”
  • Added a new challenge, “Change of Pace - Win 5 games in Mystery Heroes, Free-for-All Deathmatch, or any Arcade mode.”
  • Changed “Role Mastery” to “Win 5 games each as 2 different roles in Quick Play or Competitive Play.”

Putting wins in the challenges just encourages mega leavers. Pretty sad when it’s for $0.60 a week. All the wins need to be changed to Participations - and the player must have been active for 95% of the total match they were eligible for (which would benefit backfillers).

The hello/thank emotes should be changed to endorsements so people stick around for the whole match.

Mystery Heroes & Deathmatch need to be moved to the arcade so I don’t have to farm 5 GOATs Push match victories (although these past 2 weeks with Loverwatch have been easier)

I have a feeling people would still complain that the challenges are too hard if they turned them into glorified participation awards. Eventually we’d get to a point where challenges are just “log in”


So they should implement proper leaver penalties.

That particular challenge is being changed to include both those modes incidentally

No that would be 10000000000000000x better because you don’t need to spend 3x as long getting defeat screens in the process

They definitely should implement better leaver penalties.

“Win” challenges are definitely bad. Especially Arcade. Playing arcade should be done for fun. When the game is dead, and all the arcade modes are dead (note for Americans: There are other regions outside of your country btw), it’s so boring waiting 8 mins for a game where your entire team leaves as soon as it looks like you’re not gonna win.

I do agree that there is to many wins in weekly challenge. And that is the same week after week.

The 3 roll weekly are so bad. Win games I do anyway. So that I don’t care to much about that weekly!

At least they could some weekly awards with the event! They could had for the Junkenstein’s bride, a weekly with play all characters. So with the archive event they could have one with play all modes!

One with all characters! So for example play x archive event with all heroes.

Is there no event going on, it could just say complete 5 different modes in arcade.

They should give coins for each win instead a fixed amount per week, that way we could feel rewarded for playing so much.

I hate these kind of challenges in any game because it’s just so luck based and all it really does is make everyone try extremely hard making every game and casual mode extremely toxic.

Like why can’t it just be a number of “play” requirement? Like play so many casual and ranked games. I mean it every game I see that does this the game become literally unfun and sadly I’ve had moment in other games where it took me weeks to nearly a month just to get 3 wins to complete similar “quests” and the one challenges/quest I hate that are also win conditions are the ones where it’s a streak “win 10 games in a row” congrats you’ll never get this done but yes DEVS STOP DOING THIS THIS IS JUST BAD~!

so true…and the frustrating part is how they DID add play requirement challenges, but only in the dailies:

“Play 3 matches as all-roles”

Still kind of annoying but 100x less stressful than needing to win

Most of them can be completed at the same time but they surely do encourage leaving to get them done faster

Ah yes. On top of miserable experience lets also punish people who doesn’t want to stay. Surely that will keep people playing the game.

A penalty for leaving surely is needed but not before fixing the match quality

It´s a challange…it suppose to be challanging.
Making all challanges just “play xy” instead of win is boring.

You could rename the challenge to roll a 24 sided dice for a certain number and the result would be the same. The only challenging part is being lucky enough to get 4 other competent players on your team. We want our time respected or better rewards for doing them if they are gonna remain this way.

Yeah, Overwatch puts too much emphasis on winning over just playing. It was also true in Overwatch 1.
They should most definitely try to step away from that. Personally, I don’t even bother doing my weeklies anymore.

Not that i hate winning but when those challenges are in this game with this community it do be kinda crazy. Moreso the amount required to complete them mixed with the measly reward for just 60 coins is disgusting.

Clearly Blizzard doesn’t believe that given that they create some “Challenges” that are quite easy, like emote “Hello” to a teammate.

In any case, I’m really not at all attached to the word “Challenge”. I’d be perfectly happy to do away with that word if that’s what it takes to get rid of the win requirement.

I think it´s perfectly fine to have easy and hard challanges. And let´s face it - for some people, it´s extremly hard to say “thanks” to their supports, or “hello” in general…

i agree, just change the win condition to games played or something.
devs did tease they are making challenges changes for season 4, hopefully for the best.

Leavers make it a miserable experience :slight_smile:
