Too many Try hards in QP than Competive

Sure it will “improve” from losing by a steam rolling team every match

Your attitude is probably why the try hards are improving and you are not. Though I dont actually recommend practicing for comp in QP.

There was a Widow playing in QP yesterday who was complaining that everyone was trying to kill her, and to leave her alone so she could practice. It was hilarious.

Ever play a fighter where a person abuses one broken move? that’s a pure tryhard.

Then all try hards needs to stay in comp than QP all the time

Tryhards? You mean playing the game to win? as in the goal of the game?

Go home snowflake you’re drunk.

There’s no such thing in OW. Having played a bunch of fighting games however as well and never had such issues. It’s only in OW I heard concept like “try hard” - it’s a game and I want to win it. If you don’t want to win and play the objective etc. why play at all? It’s like me going to play football and not trying to score a goal. What’s the point of playing in the first place?

This Try Harding you speak of sounds like a challenge to me. If the enemy gives it their all, then you should give it your all. Especially if you’re practicing. In competitive no one’s gonna stand still for you like they do in the practice range.

I do admit I was “Try harding” last night in quick play as D.Va. I always seek to be the best D.Va. I ended up with 4 gold medals 3 matches in a row and play of the game twice in a row. But of course D.va can’t survive without her healers so I have to thank them for even being able to be allowed to “try hard.”

I seek to practice my critshot aim and stop shaking back and forth when frantically shooting an enemy and also learn to track Mercy flight patterns. I can’t do anything like that if I’m not aggressive. There’s so much to practice and perfect, like when to use ult, cooldowns, when to disengage and escape, whom to target first, map awareness, etc. I also aim for kill streaks. If I can go, for long amounts of time with kills under my belt it gives me an indication that I’m doing well at staying alive with or without healer. And I don’t have to leave the battlefield as often, leaving my team to potentially suffer.

I’m not even a pro. I’m a sweaty try hard gold player that tries to stomp on diamonds when they appear in quick play matches.

How do I know if I am tryharding or just below that imaginary line? Always wondered if I was a try hard player, is it a look, feeling, hero played, number of kills, heals ? Do tell …

To have fun? What’s the point in trying to score a goal if you’re not having fun in the process, football is a game.

To be honest to me it depends on what you’re practising.

If you’re practising mechanically, aiming etc do it in DM.

If you’re practising gamesense map layouts, combos do it in QP.

But i “Tryhard” anyways.

That’s basically the fun in the game  How in the world would you have fun if you are basically not trying? Or just running from one side of the field to the other not doing anything?

The concept of “try hard” is just non-nonsensical. If you are not interested in playing the game, don’t play the game at all.

They do want to play the game but they want to play it in a way that the only fun is for them doesn’t matter if you just ruined the game for 5 other people by running into a meat grinder for 5 mins.

It’s a selfish attitude and it’s a losing one.

I dont recommend QP because the gains made are too slow. Its a common theme of all posts that crticize QP as a mode for training.

If one is happy with their gains in QP thats fine go ahead and use it for training.

Games are as much about interactions as they are the rules that make them.

To such people I wonder - what are you doing playing OW in the first place? Play a standard FPS.

Such people I report for game sabotage immediately. If you want to mess around and stare at the ceiling, the right place for that is Arcade or Custom games.

People like that are why I just turn off any competitive part of my brain in QP.

It’s for fun, so why should I freak out about winning? If I’m having fun playing Mei for example, I’ll continue having fun playing Mei. If we win, that’s great! If we lose, eh whatever I still had fun.

Exactly. Nothing stops me to play a game of football where I literally do nothing but run from one side of the field to the other. Maybe I find that fun instead of actually kicking the ball.

You do that however and see how many games you are invited to and how many friends you have afterwards.

The fact that you can get away with such behavior does not make it right. Such people should be reported for game sabotage or go play Arcade/Custom where behavior like that is okay.

“qp sucks because no one takes it seriously” - “oh but if you are serious in QP, then you’re a try-hard

“comp sucks because everyone is too serious” - “oh but if you’re relaxed about it then you need to go back to QP

what do you people want? lolol

If you want serious play comp, if you want fun play QP.

Easy peasy.
