It was just an offhanded comment I read a while ago, the Devs specifically mentioned pharah when talking about them, saying venture is the 3rd Canadian hero because pharah is half Canadian.
They also kinda look a bit like pharah, at least in the blizzcon footage, so the rumor started that they are pharah’s half sibling, one child in the air one child in the ground.
This is what happens when blizzard don’t give us lore, we wildly speculate over the smallest breadcrumbs.
The concept art does though, which is why I think that as the original intention of the design.
This makes me glad the lead narrative director got laid off because it feels like 90% of the lore we have gotten at this point has been about pharah
Somewhere between the concept art and actual design, venture got hit in the face with a brick.
I was going to comment and say “chill, lots of people out there with less than perfect smiles, I just chipped a tooth myself, and dental care isn’t cheap”
But you know what? You’re just kidding around, so fair enough lol

It’s more that they are pharahs paternal half sibling, as in pharahs dad found another gf after ana was “killed”

i never thought the biggest controversy about a new overwatch hero would be their teeth
well, i guess it’s better than complaining about their kit being “not fun to play against” or them being LGBTQ, because in a game that already has 3 LGBTQ heroes, that’s a weird thing to gripe over

Not sure controversy is the word, just people having a laugh at the bad design.

look, overwatch heroes aren’t exactly the most well-kept and polished people around
soldier 76 is an old man with scars and greying hair, reaper is a living zombie, ana lost an eye, junkrat lost an arm, a leg, and a finger, roadhog is literally a fat pig, torbjorn is a gruff dwarf, reinhardt is covered in scars, genji is mostly cybernetics, widowmaker has low blood oxygen, and sigma has no shoes on… and y’all freaking out about venture having chipped teeth?
