I have yet to figure out in all my years how to swap to her gun (on Xbox and switch)…and why I don’t play mercy because I legit can’t figure out how to defend myself after 6 yrs

I think its Dpad right, I switched it to left cause thats how you switch weapons in Elder Scrolls Online and Im used to it haha
you know this its overwatch, this is not a team game…
this post is aimed towards new players. a player with good aim will almost always beat a moira. a player with bad aim will almost always lose. switching to a different character if your aim isnt the best will help.

Ahhh damn i forgot 
I actually attempted to say in a thread that it seems the concensus in all the Moira posts is that people who can aim have no problem with her, shes a skill gate you need to pass as you improve, and thus has no place in top ranked play. I was then told shes actually great in top ranked play.
I think people just like to argue

I suppose so. She has her uses in top ranked play, but its not because she’s farming squishies, she just doesn’t immediately die if she’s dived.

In top ranked play if you run at the enemy team with a Moira and dive they will instantly switch to you and you either have to fade out or die.
And then your team buckles because it’s one healer down.
She’s only dominant in low ranks and QP because people don’t deal with her correctly.

Exactly. No need to strafe when dueling a Moira, she is going to hit you anyway because her beam is the size of a truck.
Stand still, land your shots and she will have to use her fade.

S76 is the best example of this.
Drop your heal, hold LC on her head and she melts Helix for even faster melting.

Just my 2c, but the fact that she’s not great at top ranked play and absolutely brutal at low ranked play means she’s frustrating and angering tons of new players for no benefit to what really matters (top ranked play). So her design is terrible. I say “really matters” in reguards to the desire for this to be an esport by design, thats not my opinion. Im in it for the QP
But ya, she serves no real purpose other than to make new players miserble lol
Zen works well. Discord her, get in close since her damage doesn’t change whether you’re near or far, and pelt her with orbs. Zen easily beats her in DPS. If she does kill you, just take the death and don’t use your ult. It’s so much more valuable than just using it for self preservation.
mainly new edgy dd players without aim though.
new tanks just don’t care and new supports are frustrated and angered by other problems, too.

I think her purpose of countering high mobility flankers while being self sufficient is super important, her generous weapon just being a side effect. I feel a bit bad for new players, which is why I made this thread, but without Moira the support role would feel even worse than it does already, at all levels of play.
Thats fair… at least in low ranks she’s like “The Revenge of the Supports” lol

I guess she’s a necessary evil lol, if dps can have bastion and reaper I think its fine that there’s a noob stomper support. She’s also a really fantastic character to play if you want to learn core game mechanics because you don’t really have to aim.
I have 160 hours on Moira I think. How to counter me:
Play around my fade, don’t go in small rooms against me. Keep your distance. Make me waste my time so I am pulling healing off of my team. If I don’t have fade, Rien hammer absolutely wrecks me. If you think I have ult try to CC me, save CC for me so I cant push with it, or wait for me to not have ult for you to ult. Often moira’s dont really hold on to their ult so they just use it when they want.
Moira’s skill is NOT in her AIM same as Rien, Winston, Brig. Her skill is knowing what orbs to use and when, when to fade, where to fade to, constantly balancing Healing and DPS so you never run out of healing if you are good. Knowing how to jump on someone, melt and get out.
