Tiny QOL to D.va that wouldn't be a buff

I know D.va is kinda op atm, but I had this idea. Why can’t she press Q before her ult is ready to eject prematurely? Maybe people for whatever reason want to use baby dva. Whatever the reason, there’s no reason why they can’t.
What do you guys think?

Personally, I think it’d be fine. I don’t really see the need, but I also see no reason for this not to exist

That’s my point. No reason why it will be needed, but why not?
Thx for replying

Yeah it wouldn’t change the game too much either way aside from keeping the mech around as an escape function. If they change her I’d be afraid of her becoming trash tier again. That’s why I think most people are afraid of her being changed.

Agreed, something cool to add. However, how would her MEKA function while she’s squishy? Would it get destroyed, retain it’s health and could be broken by players. or what? I feel like this mechanic would make Squishy D.va better depending on how the MEKA behaves without her in it.

The reason why this isn’t a thing, I think, is the same reason why D.Va only had one emote in pilot form–Blizzard doesn’t want to encourage playing in pilot form lest people do it to throw.

It would just be destroyed and you would have to charge ult again to get it back. The whole point is to just give people the option just in case, not make it a strong option

Ok, I get that then. Would her Ult charge time change then? Either in general or on a case-to-case basis? Like if she voluntarily ejected, her Ult charge would decrease, encouraging players to play more squishy D.va, or increase, punishing players(just a little bit) for not playing more tanky(seeing as she is a tank. Not a main, but certainly a tank.)?

I hadn’t really thought that far xD

Lol, that’s fine. I just like fleshing out the ideas and “developing” the concepts for use. Makes the devs job a little bit easier should they pick up this idea, I like to think
It’s also really fun too.

Depends on what happens after you eject. If it stays around ie doesn’t despawn you could potentially block hallways or doors. If it didn’t despawn I would imagine it would have a health pool and you would have to destroy it to get past it, so it could have some real uses. I would say maybe getting to higher positions by ejecting but she can already reach whatever she wants in mech

The wall idea is a sort of strategy, it’d be like a 400-500 hp barrier that you’d need to shred, but it creates maybe a different play style than D.va is meant to have I think.

Nobody would ever use it. Think about it logically. Why would a baby Dva ever leave the safety of her mech? There has to actually be reasons for changes, not just “whatever the reason”.

That is a buff, not a QoL change.

Please take the time to understand the terms you’re using.

It isn’t, because all it is is destroying your mech yourself

If you get hooked, you could eject to save yourself from being repositioned and from feeding the Hog ult charge.

I honestly don’t see the point.

EDIT: This WOULD be a slight buff. D.Va gains height when she ejects. In certain locations such as on Ilios ruins, she could fly into the choke point, do some damage, manually eject from her mech and then land on the highground and return to her team.

Depending on how long it sits out before destroyed you could use it to block doorways
