At this point, there is nothing else left to do. Literally every game you get countered by the whole team going turret heroes (Iliari, Sym, Torb) or Moira and just letting their heroes win the game for them.
Seriously, what gives? Are we trying to market this game to pre-school?
Genji is one of the most annoying heroes, along with Widowmaker and Sombra. Moreover, he is not a difficult hero, as many say. His kit is very simple for 1v1 fights, he can literally kill Soldier 76 under the medkit and the Mercy pocket, he has too much instant damage from his abilities, it has a lot of spammable damage, because when shooting with RMB you practically don’t need to aim, shift button also does quite a lot of damage, and deflect allows you to reflect damage back to an enemy. So he is one of the strongest 1v1 heroes, that’s why counterpicking him is a good idea, otherwise he will constantly kill supports. And nano blade, in my opinion, is the strongest ultimate combination.
I literally just played a match where a guy was going 33-1 with Genji and then admitted he’d never played him. If you can’t play him, then the problem is primarily with you, because as I said, he is a strong and simple character, especially at low ranks. Well, fighting Moira or Torbjorn openly is a stupid idea for almost all characters, unless you are a tank.
he eventually decided to swap to reaper.
not that it helped him.
and he swapped so late I already had Victory vibes.
nothing worse than one Tricks that het outplayed.
theres worse heroes in the game.
genji isn’t playing for you like many other heroes so he needs to put in some efforts and can easily mess up. which makes a good hero imho.
Genji seems pretty average. Not weak and not strong. If you are asking to go back to the days when he single handedly dealt out team wipe after team wipe then no thanks.
devs going into free to play designed it to revolve around random people in internet cafes in brazil who play bottom 500 gameplay until their half hour ticker runs out and they go back to kicking rocks
His potential can get nullified by a hero that you hold a button and look around till you hit something (i.e. Moira)…
On paper, damage values work. But those numbers are not translated to practical gameplay. His practical damage output is much lower and nowhere near as bursty. Furthermore, the support abilities just allow for so much sustain, his threat is near zero
I can swiftstrike through the whole team once and get credit for the “elims”
Lots of things that don’t involve throwing your games because you’re feeling petulant.
We can’t expect other players to just let us stomp them. they’re going to try and stop us no matter what. And, yes, that includes breaking out hard counters.
If you don’t like how that pans out for you, and disagree with the direction the game is going: play something else. It would be a much better use of your time instead of throwing your games until you catch a ban.
Whenever I see a genji on the enemy team I build up my brig ult as soon as I hear his audio RALLY TO ME ping him shield stun bash bash kill. and spam mace2theface he is good against squishy teams only but you will never be able to win against a beefier team. That is just not his play style he doesnt need a buff you just need to learn when to play him and its not every game.
Genjis such an heated topic in comp, I think he’s a simple character to play but it’s hard to play him well or above average against other dps characters simply because it’s usually a 2 v 1, like when do you ever see a soldier or Ashe without a mercy pocket ? What I’m trying to say is either, your skill is enough to take that 2v1 or you sit back and wait for them to be low hp, swift strike etc…
