Make it 1-1-1 Locked Rolls
and the other 1-1-1 Slots are Flexed rolls with 2 Categories Max. (ex: DPS & Support)
Now you aren’t FULLY locked to 2-2-2, but always guaranteed tanks and healers and can make crazy comps as well
How does it alleviate queue times if you still NEED a tank? That’s the bottleneck. You need to address that to alleviate queue times. It does not work, otherwise.
Well, I mean, I guess being able to toss two extra players into every lobby does have a negligible impact. If and only if the same amount of people queue tank. But I promise you that solo tanking against SIX people is going to be substantially worse and they are likely afraid to buff tank because everyone cries.
Tanks and what?
Also, that wouldn’t solve it because the loser DPS one-tricks would all just queue DPS, making the one guaranteed slot a massive bottleneck, because they’re too scared to select flex since they might have a chance of playing a role they’re too incompetent to play.

do what?
6v6 will (hopefully) make tanks more fun to play again, which will attract more players to the role.
It is really up to the devs to make them fun enough that people want to play the role.
I played a significant amount of both DVA and Reinhardt back when we had only Open Queue. That stopped with RQ. I stayed in OQ until 5v5, and then OQ was over in my eyes. After that I only played DPS, even though in Overwatch1 Ana was my 2nd most played hero. And DVA was in the top 5 I think.
RQ really diminished the amount of players, simply because it forced all players to pick their favorite role, and many (especially DPS) didn’t play much outside it.
I predict that a more open format will make more players that are now dedicated to DPS and Support (more or less forcibly so) dip into the tank role as well.
Many of the tanks could be quite fun in a toned-down format with a tank buddy, and I believe many players not normally playing tank would be attracted to the role.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I have in the past myself suggested something similar to this 1-1-1 format, but I think it is going to be too restrictive if you mandate anyone to play something.
Today I would prefer to make upper limits only.
I would make it a two tank upper limit (this will prevent GOATS), and then make an additional limit of one shield tank.
With the limit on a single shield tank, it is possible for the devs also in the future to release shield tanks without worrying about multi-shield comps.
Funny joke.
Not exactly consistent.
Best used to bully the enemy Tank.
Also deals damage.
More of a self-heal thing. Dive protection.
Ok.
And how does she activate her passive again? Oh yeah, aggravated assault!
Like 3 packs here and there.
Not consistent, like Zen ult. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Ana’s ult because of its 300 healing.
The Pylon is the hero TBH, not Illari.
That’s the gun isn’t it? Anyway, the healing beam lasts 3 seconds at best.
Ok.
You use Suzu for healing? It’s cleanse and invincibility. The healing is just something thrown on for no apparent reason.
Ok.
Inconsistent.
If you’re off speed, you’re a bad Lucio.
BOOSTIO!
Damage boost is better.
Inconsistent and damage boost is better.
That’s the sucky sucky damage arm.
Lean orb.
Interesting how you neglected to mention all of the shields, invincibilities, stuns, Discords, anti-heals, cleanses, speed and raw damage the SUPPORTS can output.
Look me in the eyes and tell me that Zenyatta’s urine orb is his scariest attribute.
But do these rolls have butter?
