So I am not usually one to complain, but the match quality has been absolutely abyssmal this season.
Firstly as a solo queue player I should have narrow matches. I have had those but also matches from gold 5 to diamond 1 and it has been a mess. I don’t know what has happened this season but it feels awful.
Secondly I feel like the lowering of match threshold into comp has really affected game quality. It feels so strange when you get into a match and your average level is 30-40 on your characters then the rest of your team is levels 4-5 among their top 3.
I don’t know if its alt accounts or new players or smurfs or what but its kind of evident the huge skill gap in matches even if the same rank as you.
I have also noticed an increae in cheaters as well this season. I have had a mauga anap 180 onto my head tracking me as I kiri tp and I mean legit tracking. Widows and hanzos tracking me as sombra whilst no ults/sonics are up.
Do not get me started on increased toxic behaviour too. You can report things that are so extreme I have had tonuse the emergency report at one point. Not a single action taken against any of them.
Finally this has led to horrific matches. I placed at plat 1 in support 1 match off diamond. I am currently in gold 2 and in the last two weeks have hit a low I haven’t been since season 7/8.
I have been consistently plat for multiple seasons. But for some reason winning a support game has become nearly impossible. I have had literally 3 wins in the last 20 games over 2 weeks. I am not tilt queuing I do a set amount of games a day, focus on skills etc.
My last 2 loss streaks have been 19 and 22 games in a row respectively and 3 wins.
My dps games are faily average. Tank is also mega extreme.
I do not need telling its a skill diff. I am aware I am making some mistakes. But when my friends whom all of us have been part of CAH for 2+ years etc have scrimmed and more are saying the game quality this season is shocking then it cannot just be me.
It didn’t feel bad, it WAS bad. It was the only thing I saw people actually agree on this month. These were all hot button issues that blizzard failed with. The only people that contested it were the “eat whatever’s put in front of you” crowd.
no this season is PURE TRASH. Like ungodly ragebait by developers. I am being matched with the worst players I have ever see out of the lowest ranks that do not belong anywhere near me or my teams. This should be a lawsuit

idk both dps and sup both deranked 5+ ranks this season, and my dps slingshot back up d2-p3 to d2 again, and support is going thru the same thing. It’s like a wall of team diffs, just cant.
Ranked isn’t worth it. The points for stadium progression is broken. I was losing points when I was winning sometimes, outside of that they were giving me 1 point a win. It’s so damn bad
It’s so weird too. I never see so much “Expected” and “Reversal” modifiers until this season. Almost EVERY win is expected when I’m going through these long losing streaks with under performing teams. The Reversals are also in the majority of my losses as well. I’m seeing others say it in other places too. Seems like the devs are hard forcing ranks on players, allotting them into ranks to optimize the match making timer.
It’s clear that it isn’t working out. So many people I gamed with this season dumped ranked, then saw QP and how bad it was and dumped it as well. I’m finishing the season solo. It sucks.
Theres been multiple big threads about this, this season. Literally everyone on every platform is saying how mad the MM is this season. I don’t know if some new undetectable cheats came out, or if Blizzard is using bots to fill lobbies but something weird is going on for sure.
And this is why I’m currently taking a holiday in Warframe. I can’t be bothered to grind my way back into diamond. I would literally rather be doing other things for the time being. Ergo, I just chose to not play the game. I’m sure it’ll balance out in a few months just in time for their next reset.
I do think that the addition of the console players with kbm into the pc pool contributed to some of the rank upset though. I definitely believe that this was part of the reason why this season was such a dumpster fire.
I dunno if I can mention other games but bf6 is coming out tomorrow then I’m saying goodbye to over watch after 3 years. Might be back because I love this game, but if they continue down this path then I don’t know if I can handle it anymore. Few seasons back when they added lootboxes again then stadium was so great.
Go where you’re happy. The community for the most part will always think that the games doing fine as things burn around them. They’ve been conditioned to it. If battlefield makes you happy then chase it. It’s not like you need permission you know? You can love a game and still recognize that it’s a trainwreck.
My placements went so bad that I only played 3 comp games after. I won 2 and lost one. The loss was an impossible win. Our level 1 echo went 1-11. My tank was level 4. I crossed my fingers hoping these people were on their alts on match startup. I don’t think that echo was, lol.
I don’t buy that Elo hell thing. I understand that bad matchmaking creates frustrating games, but bad matchmaking goes both ways, sometimes creating unfair games for you, sometimes for the enemy. You aren’t that special to the game that they specifically give you all the bad players.
Especially with Zen and Kiri you can make such a big difference. If you are stuck, I would look at your replays and try to spot common mistakes and try to improve, not focusing too much on the rank. A good rank comes naturally with improvement
I was Bronze hardstuck for over a year, then silver and gold hardstuck for years as well. I used to blame my team as well and believe the Elo hell crap, but it just doesn’t make any sense if you think about it. And I got out once I actually got better
