Lucky, I love animals but don’t think I can even handle one pet right now. I’m just gone too often. It seems pointless to adopt a pet and them have them cooped up in the house or yard all day. Dogs are happiest when taken for long walks and when you spend lots of time with them, after all.

There are still ways to hang out with pets that don’t require you to own one. You could volunteer at a shelter or walk or sit other peoples pets whenever you have free time. Also if your yard is big enough then it wouldn’t be a problem for the dog to spend most of their time there as long as you have a pet door or something for them to get back inside.
