I’ve sticked with this game since its last closed beta. I’ve slogged my way through the disgusting metas, ranks and toxicity. Why did I stay? I can easily answer you, because the game was fun, and I had faith…
… but not anymore. The Hammond nerf was the last straw for me. This hero alone kept me playing because I absolutely love the way how he plays combined with his insanely high skill ceiling. I’m not saying I’m a one-trick though, I still kept playing a lot of heroes.
What bothers the flying fart out of me is how inept the balance team is. Now, I’m not single-handedly mad because of one single hero nerf, it’s because Blizzard just won’t stop making changes that make NO sense. Instead if giving us easier fixes for heroes they decide to overnerf them so they won’t the light of the day until they eventually get buffed again because the whiny playerbase calmed down.
Remember Roadhog when he was useless for way too long? I did. And that is just ONE example. Look what they did to Sigma, D.va and Orisa. And meanwhile…? Damage heroes stay broken for eternity and are able to kill tanks in a laughably for short time because of the ridiculous powercreep.
Y’know Widowmaker? That hero that can kill you from across the map with zero counterplay? Nope, that is totally okay. Want a a tank to tank for you? Haha no, let’s overnerf its tanking abilities
In short: It’s not like the balance team are gonna listen to feedback because they had tons of it in the past but they simply refuse because apparently they want to be bad at it. Seriously, get your stuff together or you will keep losing players.
Call me salty, but nobody can deny that the balance team has made more garbage than good changes.
Well, one of the biggest complaints are the amount of CC in this game, and they seem to be toning that down. Mei and Doomfist had their CC already toned down so I guess they are doing Hammond now.
Yeah, because they were meta, unlike Hammond ever was. Are you high? He is literally counted by more than half the roster. Only a good Hammond knows how to play around his counters, and even then you’re gonna have a really bad time.
Hammond’s nerf is really not gonna do much harm. It’s only going to maybe affect those who struggled with aim in the first place. His nerf is honestly a non-event.
You don’t matter. OWL DPS players and their fans do. Just join the dark side. I have. I don’t play Tank/support as much anymore. The more they delete everyone not named Rein, Zen, Ana is just more people that should come over to the DPS side.
Stop arguing. Stop Complaining. Just queue for DPS and enjoy playing heroes that will never be dumpstered like a tank/support would. You will feel better, and you will have fun with the game again.
They’re much less likely to move unpopular changes to live with the new balance philosophy. They already walked back numerous proposed changes like ThicCree or Orisa’s damage nerf. Give it a spin, see if it affects the game as much as you think it does.
Oh no, Hammond mains actually have to aim to kill someone with piledrive!
Honestly though, Hammond vs immobile hero’s is just like doom. If he gets on them they have nothing they can do, to add onto the fact this guy is a super high health tank.
The biggest Ball counters/other dominant tank picks got heavily nerf recently, I don’t think it’s a big deal.
He got huge net buff with all the nerfs for Orisa-Sigma-Doom-Mei and now Brig, so now they compensate it with a direct nerf.
That’s not the dealbreaker. Any kind of heal instantly denies his combo. Ever tried killing someone who is getting healed?
Of course, you often rely on your team. Hammond would be broken if he could do everything by himself.
After hundreds of hours on him I’ve noticed that you need to retreat from most piledriver combos because otherwise you would just die. What’s even more hilarious is how Hammond was never meta or oppressive, yet he is receiving a nerf?
What makes this even dumber is how people on this forum whine about 2 things:
-People that say Hammond has too much CC
-People that say people who play Hammond are just nobrain feeders
Guess what? They’re all the same people. It’s actually funny as hell.
As hyper mobility as Ball you get the chance to choose who you are getting the fight with. Part of the skill with him is to know when and how to isolate someone, preferably a healer, and then kill him.
Widow and Brig aren’t meta for a long time, and they got nerfed too. While they both weren’t meta recently, they were decent pick for a long time - same with Ball. And now when the alternative got big nerfs, it’s just make sense.
To an extent OW became CCWatch, and they seem to try to mitigate some of it, and that great.
Well they are right about low rank players with him, they are feeders.
But it’s just proving the point he has quite high skill floor, and especially ceiling. He takes insane amount of skill/time to master like the top players.
