This game sets you up to fail

Only true way to describe this abysmal matchmaking. Oh you won 2 games? Heres 5 loses in a row. Oh youre about to win aftet that streak? Lets shuffle in a quitter on the enemy team.

This horrible matchmaking pushed me to play my first and only game of rivals which to me is like a intellectually diabled fortnite.

Blizzard just fix your matchmaking to stop setting up people to fail.

Why would the game want you to fail?

It doesn’t want you to fail, it wants the “team” to rise above and carry the throwers, defy the smurfs, and overcome the fact that the flawed 50/50 MM, that can’t account for these outside variables, and doesn’t award individual performance in the face of these variables, has produced a game that’s more than likely 20/60. It’s a flawed system.

thats how they keep you playing. its designed into the game. I think game desginers call it flow.

Not sure how bad matches are meant to make you want to play more…

Either way, that isn’t match making, and the game isn’t “setting you up to fail”. Sometimes matches are just rubbish.

cause people want to win, its like playing pokies, you win big, then you lose alot, then you win big again, then you lose alot.

You are 1/10th of the equation.

People do like to win. But the whole “forcing results” for engagement is pure forum fairy tale. Normally coming from players who’ve hit a point where progress has stalled, they’re getting about a 50% win rate over a season and they think the match making pixies are doing it.

All the engagement stuff they do is in the battle pass, gamble boxes, events, challenges, all that rubbish. That’s what creates the fomo.

You won, your MMR increased, you were put up against players with an MMR that matched that and you couldn’t keep up so you started losing, losing made you tilt which made you lose more. That’s not setting you up to fail, that’s playing literally any competitive game. You’re not entitled to wins, streaks happen.

Losing a lot is bad though.
There have been studies about this, losing streaks make people quit.

Who hurt you scat. How hurt you.

This ^ Whenever I play support my MAIN focus is keeping everyone alive especially the tank and topping up their health, doing dps comes secondary, bur whenever I don’t play support half of the time I end up with a support (usually a Moria) who just runs in solo to the front lines ahead of our tank trying to do dps while only getting 2k healing all match

Keep believing it isnt designed that way lol

Can you answer me why it even should be designed this way?

the more people that play a game, the more revenue it can bring in. The game is free, how else are they supposed to pay people that give us this awesome game. Why do you think all games are changed to accomodate noob players. Why do you think they nerfed doom to hell? Why do you think they took pharah out of the sky? Why do you think they introduced delays in widow scoping in? They did the same thing in Counterstrike with sniper rifles. The more people that play, the more money they can make.

I wouldnt do the same thing as they did changing how heros work but everything else they are doing is a tried and tested method. Look at fortnite.

Im just waiting patiently for some pharah skins otherwise I wouldnt be playing. Cassidy on the otherhand is my new love lol. Hes so broken right now. Unlimited ammo, Unlimited rolls (mobility he always needed) the only thing it requires is good aim. Im just enjoying cassidy while it lasts. They will definitely nerf him to hell no doubt.

You get more people to play the game by making it more fun.

You still have not explained why the game would be designed to make people lose a lot.

exactly, you make it more fun. For noobs that cant aim so you make changes to heros that people spent thousands of hours mastering to make it more enjoyable for the people without skills. Same issue they had in World of warcraft. You had a small pocket of people that would destroy faces, so they nerf the class to make it more enjoyable for the rest.

Comp not fun? No worries lets make it easy for people.

When they realised people were leaving in droves they tried making classic but many years too late most people never touched wow again especially warriors/tanks.
