I just looked at my stats, I almost have a perfect 50/50 mix.
Games Won: 10,325
Games Lost: 10,073

Tbh ive just been losing 75% of my ow games lately.
Then I play MR and win 60% of my games, with 30% of the losses being pretty close, and feel much better.
Have you learnt to aim slightly to the right of an enemies head and not center on it?
The 3rd person view makes it wierd but you can test it in practise range. You shoot 3cm to the right of their head and still hit it. You shoot 1mm to the left of the head and its a miss. Same with melee attacks.
Always aim slightly right.
Because of this, if you take cover on the left of you and peak to the right, you have full view and can shoot out, while youre covering half your hitbox, as your hitbox to the enemy is on their left.
Itâs too bad Blizzard basically decides the outcomes with forced role challenges or maps nobody wants to play on or other things that get in the way that we have no control over.
Records should just be removed all together with how inaccurate they are. Nobody can say they honestly deserve most of their wins or losses with a straight face. The only time pure skill matters when it comes to getting wins on their record is if itâs a 1 vs. 1 game.
Life becomes better when you stop making excuses.
Play with the mentality that youâll win some, lose some. Youâre supposed to be having fun, not sweating.
From my QP experience I do agree it seems like half of all matches are one-sided jokes
Which makes the petty time-outs for quitting matches all the more egregious
That can be said for any hero in the game.
The big difference is that hitscans are able to deal damage from a distance without delay and are only at âriskâ when something gets close to them. Even then though, they have pretty good defensive abilities such as grapple, self-heal, stun. This is where the risk reward comes at play.
Because they are more easily punished, have to get much closer to the enemy. Also these bail-out tools arent great or reliable. You always have to think 3 steps ahead as a projectile hero before engaging an enemy and still have to land your shots.
I hate to bring this in the convo but based on this comment I have to ask⌠what rank are you?
âmatchmaker is not brokenâ âu cant prove itâ
yeah ok, and corporations arent evil, they are merely taking every square inch of land and monetizing every aspect of our reality, sImPLy fOcUs oN uRselfffff
theres only so much one can do within the cages they build for us
likeâŚdo we have to make a perfect combination of squiggles for you? do you not have eyeballs? look around
because algorithm is designed to keep you at ~50%.
i did shared screen shot which was instantly deleted: tracer on new account 0 kills, 300 damage done , 102 games played 50 games won, 48% winrate. - explain?
Shouldn´t he/she just fall low enough that the MM gives up and gives him t500 team members against some bots?
The weekly/daily cue all roles is horrible! Combo that with ânot in top 3â and you have a bad game experience.
You are maybe not forced to do them but gaining raw xp from a match alone makes them a must for climbing in the pass.
This is facts, I forgot what close game was before playing MR, it might be 5v5 tbh 6v6 feels less stompy
doesnt apply to me really since i play black widow a lot on that game. first person in scope most of the time. maybe thats one of the reasons for my record. i heard she aint that great
So like their are only two hitscans with long ish range, that is soldier and widow.
Ashe is a loooooooot shorter then people think. While casidy and the spread / shot gun users are rather short range. And are playing comfortably in range to an iccle to the head, or rocket down their gullet.
Outside of those ranges your doing chip damage (usually less then 30 dps) with most hit scan heroes outside of projectile heroesâ effective range.
Even then maps restrict LOS in ways that allow you to get close to the enemy so you donât ever really need to get into a long range fight.
Like believe it or not, their is like three or more paths to any given location. And you donât actually have to run down main. In many cases the flanks are even a more direct path to were you want to be on payload and push maps.
Just because they can potentially hit for damage at long range, doesnât mean you have to let them do that.
With some exceptions like the sniper maps.
Thatâs just how efficient sorting algorithms work though. If the matchmaker tried to make lopsided matches it would be much less efficient in sorting the players by relative skill, which would mean it would take longer to climb and the ladder would less accurately reflect the relative skill levels of the players.
The best way for someone who hasnât worked with sorting algorithms in the past to consider this is to ask yourself- do you gain more information about a professional basketball playerâs skill by having them play against other professional basketball players or by having them play against high school players?
The corollary in terms of a game like Overwatch is that players should be paired to make matches in which any given player has a roughly 50% chance of winning the match- thatâs how you best figure out who should rank a bit higher and who, a bit lower.
And the end result of that is that players achieve a 50% win rate over time, regardless of how skilled they are at the game. In a well sorted system, the only competitors who will significantly deviate from a 50% win rate after enough matches are those at the very top and very bottom of the skill curve.
The important bit to understand there, is that people on the ladder who have been calibrated will each have a 50% win rate vs. players ranked at roughly the same ladder position as them. So while player A who is not especially skilled and player B who is highly skilled may each have a 50% win rate, player A will be winning 50% of their matches while playing with and against Bronze players, while player B will be winning 50% of their matches while playing with and against GM players.
This matchmaking is basically
Does the other side have fancy purple names with no life name titles while yours is full of new accounts?
Does the other side have players that are in an obvious stack?
Do they have both of the things I mentioned?
GG itâs predetermined and you lost donât even bother.
This.
There is something wrong with the matchmaker.
Blizzard should just copy Marvelâs Rivals SR system and get rid of the hidden MMR stuff.
it is working as intended and designed. Keep you engaged and want more to play.
People donât swap even if means throwing or losing.
Thatâs why MM sucks.
âThis game intentionally feeds me losses after x number of wins â
The most fun activities usually involve you sweating
