Ofc, every one got used to the old boop and positioned themselves accordingly so now when its weaker they have a good safety margin to the edge.

As a Ball main: It really isn’t that bad a nerf? I still manage to boop enough people off the map, and to be fair, only KoTH has enough areas to do so. All the other modes still need the same playstyle and although he does not have that much knockback anymore, you can still juggle teams around.
Yeah and turn game into generalistic pew pew even more

The hyper mobility , hyper CC, Strong barriers, Heroes for new players, Unique characters, Open Queue - its what was Overwatch, its what was making it interesting and fun
Now we have hard hitscan focused shooter, and it… sucks

Ah yes… The hyper mobility… Which was and still is so bad that the entire game almost got destroyed after a hero was implemsnted just and only to counter said heroes’ ridiculousness and the comps that they enabled.
Or the hyper CC, which, out of everything else, has made Tanking an unplayable mess so many times until now.
Strong barriers, or should I say, enablers of arguably the most boring META in this game’s history.
Heroes for new players, which have historically been either useless or “low skill = high reward”.
Unique characters… Very often a synonym for badly - designed ones, that is.
And who can forget Open Queue, a system that tanked so hard that it was removed completely for almost an entire year.

Nah you just don’t get free kills anymore. If you don’t kill them, they were not “next to the edge.” They were “at least 10 meters away from the edge” which is not “next to the edge” lmao.

Ball still has the best boop with the most damage and 5 second Cooldown. Just cuz the enemy didn’t die means you hit them against their momentum.
Not sayin i like almost all boops relatively similar, but it is what we have
The change was absolutely stupid. Getting booped by the Ball is annoying, but that’s his speciality. Knowing spots where you can boop players of the map, when to go for them and so on was the whole idea of Ball. It’s also a very counterable and interactive mechanic with other players
I say revert that change and make his temporary shields consistent with other temporary shield in the game. That would be way better for him
They just have a hate bias against ball and will believe whatever they want to in order to justify their biased thinking.
Junk trap, McCree Stun, Sombra hack, brig bash and flail, lucio boop, echo and pharah flying over it, sleep dart, mei wall, rein pin, staying out of range and shooting his massive hitbox are just some painfully obvious examples that come to mind.
Don’t use a ball revert to bandwagon support for an equally stupid and moronic change.

All the abilities in the game should be consistent with each other depending on the category and nature of the game. That’s all there is to the change. He needs to be tuned down regardless after the revert so the change would be good for him since it would highlight his flaw instead of destroying his core gameplay mechanics. Just a plain revert is out of the question and nerfing any other aspect of his kit would be the stupidest thing you could do to him considering how mediocre his entire kit is and how nerfing mine duration would be almost irrelevant nerf. Making his temporary shields work like they should is the correct way to change him one way or the other regardless. If he gets overnerfed then they can even buff something else in his kit
I don’t think Hammond’s shields depleting over time would really mean anything. If they depleted at the rate of Sigma’s or Doomfist’s, he would lose like 100 before the ability timed out and he loses everything.
Also, did I mention the ability times out? Hammond loses his temporary shields way faster than Sigma or Doomfist do because of that mechanic.

As a DPS and Tank player, I get a clear view of both sides. Tank balance is pretty bad, DPS is overall quite strong (not the one I play, lol…)
