I played about 20 games of Bap after queuing dps all season, and it’s like what were they thinking? He has an actual laser beam now with those massive bullets

Illari has never been a bap replacement though. She’s a zen replacement if anything. Heroes with pretty low utility outside of their damage

Orrrrrrrrrrrr we reduce S76’s recoil by 30%. It should be fine since it’s just a quality of life issue. 
To be fair, I really don’t think that would make much of a difference. Recoil is already pretty low on him, and anything outside of range where he is at like max falloff anyways and it hardly matters.
Then I hope to see it in the next patch.

That’s really all you pick zen for; damage, and discord orb (which lets you do more damage)
Baptiste has AOE healing and lamp so it’s not really comparable to zen or illari.
AOE healing is not utility, all supports can heal (Bap however does have Lap and Window)
Illari doesnt have “little utility”, she has 0 (zero) utility, and her dmg is clearly not enough to justify her as replacement for any other support

Damage is damage, I see her gun as the same as zen with discord. Just because it’s not on a button doesn’t really matter. And especially since she doesn’t really even have to think about healing since pylon just auto heals. She can just spend all her time damaging and with a mobility cd to boot.
Her utility is that you have a third DPS hero that happens to heal, similar to zen. But with a better ult than zen and harder to kill than zen.
The reason illari is not that good right now is because you have to be good on her, but the players who are good are playing Juno brig because that’s far and away the best support backline in the game at the moment. Well, she WAS meta alongside baptiste after all before that, though she got nerfed soon after

I honestly dont think the buff is even a buff. like it is, but it was practically a beam anyway so I’m not sure why it was touched. I dont think it affected the character in any way shape or form.
I will, however, say that the reasoning they gave was the most hilariously pathetic and out of touch thing I have ever had the misfortune of reading. these devs are cooked.
It was a big buff because his gun was the main hurdle for a lot of players. The reasoning was just code for “we don’t actually have a justification but we’re going to buff him anyway because f*** you”

Reading about the great and terrifying Forums Bap gets a little funny sometimes, but that recoil buff was actually uneeded. I’ve never heard anyone mention fatigue from his gun in my life.
