its almost impossible to climb in ranked. back in season 1 the matchmaking was bad, but now… my god.
If the first thing that pops in your head when you hear the word monkey is people of color then that says a lot about you.

You might be making it awfully easy for your enemies to win.
I played with 2 people I met in OW1 the other day and had my most enjoyable match of OW2 I ever had. We lost, but it was very close and very fun. Every solo match I’ve had on the otherhand has been a complete disaster so maybe it’s only close in teams.
I swear none of my games really feel balancer, regardless of rank. Its roll or be rolled.

It used to be every game was a 1 sided squash from either side. Now its like every 10 or so games of dealing with that i get a good evenly matched game
So keep it up! Maybe 1000 or so more matches it will balance out you too will unlock the scratch card of every 10 games will be fun.
im saying in general. I have games where i win, and some that i lose. I am not making anything easy for no one, each player has there individual skill, some are good, some are bad, and some are average.
I’m getting fed up with it. If they could just put in a solo queue that would solve the issue.
I mean in a way it is season 1 for a lot of players that joined as free2plays in OW2 and still learn, but also face players that potentially play for years on an average level that roll them. This was unavoidable and will take a really long time until the skill curve of players evens out again.
Despite what everyone says, this game takes quite a long time to actually improve.
It takes at least 400 games for the matchamking system to start making semi-decent games wich is an absurd ammount
Supposedly they are matching role mmr with role mmr but i dont think that is strictly the case still getting huge dps and tank diffs…like my dps in last two games had less than half the damage and eliminations as the other team…i want to say just play torb. Anyway i think they still use a team value in match making they need to match role vs role exclusively within the allowed spread. Lots of these games are just unwinnable.

Terrible matchmaking and balance decisions result to this. The fact that they admitted to matching players of unequal mmr says it all
That match is unbalanced. If it isn’t finding anyone for that replacement. The enemy team has someone that high. They can’t find anyone to pass or match them. It created a invalid match to begin with.

I’m silver/gold and had a GrandMaster in my game the other day. How can that even happen? The match making is horrendous.
Ranks in ow2 doesnt matter. Its a sticker generalizing a sense of progression.
Because mmr determines who you play with, that gm must have had several bad games for the system to assume they were performing at a low level. OR everyone else overperformed in their previous games and their stats told the game they’re better.
This is why comp is unethical and demoralizing.
Uses any rank as long as the level of competency appears equal, to determine your/enemy team.
These also affect your winrates which affects your ability to climb.
I mean you can hardly tell what ranks people are with private profiles and people not having ranked titles equipped, but usually I’m getting matched with silver-masters, I’m often the highest one on my team and it can’t be that difficult to find another diamond or master, but IDEK at this point, ever since role queue matchmaking has been a mixed bag, and OW2’s matchmaking is even worse, playing less and less every week myself.
I play on the Asian server, so unfortunately I feel like this is rampant.
