Saying pressing a button and getting lucky is skill is just stupid pressing a button lining up the shot hitting tha target through ones own aim and mechinics is skill. Intention is the thing that differentiates skill and luck. Intending to do something then doing it successfully is skill. Intending to do something then failing to do it but getting success anyways is luck.
I should do a target survives with 1hp after airshot flick compilation. Just so everyone can see my pain.

You said hitting a button isn’t skill. But all anyone does it hit buttons when gaming. So by that logic no video game can involve skill it’s all luck.
And as I’ve said. Luck is a skill. Most people who have “bad luck” have that because they never tried in the first place. It’s like someone who gets pooped on by a bird is unlucky. But did you look up and see 10 pigeons above you? Did you choose to walk around. Or did you put yourself there and get hit by the poop. It wasn’t unlucky you put yourself in an unlucky situation. If they avoided it wouldn’t have been lucky it would have been smart.
His intention was to hit the button and hit the tracer directly. That didn’t happen any success after that was down to luck. Luck is not a skill it is by definition not a skill.
But if he never shot. Luck wouldn’t have been involved. He put himself into a lucky situation.
And as you also said. It wasn’t unlucky because he engaged with no recall. The tracer put themselves into that unlucky situation because they engaged with no recall.
Choosing to shoot isn’t a skill shooting well is a skill.
But in the end who cares when you get the kill.
Agreed there it doesn’t matter if it was through luck of skill he got the kill. (but it was through luck)
I use to believe this until they worked towards designing meta’s instead of balancing.
