The state of competitive is horrible

Because you don’t know my faults. Simple. I shoot shields when I have to. doesn’t mean I can sit there and break the shield and kill the person behind it without teamwork.

If I’m the only one doing it it is a wasted effort even if I still do it. If I can somehow get a main tank to one health aiming for his head after I break the shield it’s just unfortunate the follow up isn’t there.

I have played all three roles in this game but not everyone understands the game equally. That’s just how it is.

Overwatch is not a FPS is is a team based HERO shooter, thus there are melee heros, beam heros, tanks and healers, and yes it is heavy reliance on teamwork, you need tanks to make space, so DPS can get kills and the supports to keep people alive in fights, the game was abvertised to be based on teamwork yet people are mad cause you cant solo carry youe whole team? Thats not the core design of the game from day 1 and if that is what you wanted you are playing the wrong game

i know the faults in the post you made, and you’re biggest fault is trying to act like you do everything right and your team is trash and does nothing, you yourself revealed your faults, but your ego is too big to accept it

Some teams are this way and do nothing. Sometimes I am not playing my best because I’m not a machine but there is a difference with game losing mistakes and simple ones everyone makes.

If I win a game no matter how hard I pop off as a dps. It’s always thanks to my tanks for giving me the ability to do what I did.

This isn’t exactly true either, this is a team based game, if you won while popping off then it was a collective effort not just thanks to the tanks. Which is what a lot of people choose to ignore so then they end up thinking dps are weak when really you need to learn to work with your team instead of thinking only one person or one role is the only carry.

Tanks are the hardest carry in overwatch at least in my opinion. Even if they get one hundred percent of the healing resources. I know their value. I can go a whole game without getting any support and win because my tanks get aggressive when they need to. The supports are doing a great job keeping them alive but it’s hardest to play tank.

I’ve had games where I get pocketed by a mercy and simply pick the entire team apart. did I pop off? Yes. Would I have been able to do it without the mercy? No

The problem with competitive isn’t tanks, dps, or support. It’s that Blizzard is unable to appropriately make mmr work, there is no way it can in the state this game has always been in. Without a system in place that truly addresses connection issues, leavers, smurfs, toxicity the game will stay in its poor competitive state. It’s a breeding ground of instant headaches for anyone who is authentically trying to have a decent match with civil behaviour. In this state Overwatch is more likely to create emotional upheavals that are not healthy for anyone.
QP is terrible but the better option for people who can’t deal with the comp losses that are guaranteed with the broken system.

I’ve had these games too as a Mercy main. I’ve also had games where I pocketed a dps that walked in and owned the enemy team, generally that is a genji that knows how to genji. One of the things that kills me the quickest is the lack of space between me and who I have pocketed which tragically limits my mobility. There seams to be an impulse to get close to the Mercy by many tanks but this is likely to kill me if I can’t utilize GA and super jump. Which makes a good genji one of the most indispensable dps, it’s just rather rare to come across. I will always attempt to read my team to see who is doing the most havoc to the other team where it matters, and I will soft pocket that person throughout the game… soft pocket to me means that i will likely try to make this player the centre of my screen as often as possible but not at the expense of helping everyone else stay alive. My best bet is on a Rein that doesn’t have the charge trigger finger reflex and always heading off into the depths of the enemy ranks! lol
