The Sombra skin that is currently exclusive to last year’s Blizzcon ticket (which is now unobtainable) had a point on the bottom of the ticket website stating that the skin will be available in-game sometime during this year (2019).
Seeing as how it’s been saved as a “legacy” skin, people are right to assume that Blizzard has back-peddled on their original statement and kept it as a one time exclusive skin, similar to the Winston and Bastion Blizzcon skins. We would, however, have to wait until the year has ended to verify this, as they can release it for public purchase at any time during 2019.
How do you feel about this? Do you think that it should stay exclusive to those who purchased the Blizzcon ticket, despite the statement within the fine print at the bottom?
Or do you feel that it should be made available, that it’s unfair to those that couldn’t afford it, missed out on it, or simply didn’t feel that purchasing an entire ticket for a skin was not worth their money? (NOTE: The Blizzcon ticket included way more than the skin, but some may have considered purchasing it for the skin alone, disregarding the other contents of the ticket from other Blizzard games.)
For me personally I would like to be able to have the option to purchase it, either with gold or real money, like the Lucio and Mercy skins, as I was unable to afford the ticket at the time it was being sold. That’s my opinion, and I would love to know yours!
I’d rather they come out and say when it’ll be available. Just saying 2019 is incredibly vague and putting it in Legacy raises a few questions. As long as it can be purchased by the end of 2019. At 1,000 coins $5 or whatever. I’m fine with waiting.
The only reason I care is because they stated it would be available later. They are obligated to release it once more as far as I am concerned. I have no intention of purchasing the skin, but the people who took Blizzard’s word (however niave) deserve to have that agreement honored. If Blizzard has a problem with that, they should conduct themselves more professionally in the future.
I understand the point of view that other people got the skin as a reward for getting the blizzcon pass thing, and that it wouldn’t be fair to them to evetually have the skin be available to everyone.
But I think a good compromise would be to sell the skin either at a higher credit value, or with actual currency (Blizzard let us buy credits instead of loot boxes please!!)
That being said, it shouldn’t be sold for 15 dollars like the pink mercy
That’s how I feel. If you say you will provide it at a later date you should honor that. But it is in line with things happening at blizz for their word to become more and more unreliable so really anymore who’s to say what will happen.
Demon Hunter was a skin that was behind a paywall. So I can see why they’ve changed it to the “Legacy” status.
But if they ever decided re-release it. The re-released version should still be exclusive and limited time. Out of courtesy to those who bought it before, releasing it for like 1000 credits would just be rude
I don’t have a horse in this race since I don’t really play sombra, but I think it should be released for purchase.
I’m actually a fan of legacy skins. I think it’s fun to see some exclusive skins in the game. It’s something very special. But they did promise to release demon hunter sombra this year. If they hadn’t made that promise I would say keep it a legacy.
I’m glad to see so many agree with my opinion, but I remember that not long ago a vocal amount were upset that it would be available to others that didn’t buy the ticket. I almost felt that I was a severe minority in this regard.
