The shatter nerf is a joke

You mean back when the game released? Because that’s how Shatter originally was, you couldn’t trivially Q-to-kill-team.

Also because they figured Reinhardt needs a special care and be resistant to boops.

I still don’t think stun time was ever the highlight of Accretion. The fact that it’s a stun at all is nice and gives Sigma some extra utility, but the knockback has always been the more useful feature since it keeps people off of Sigma.

Or, instead of nerfing shatter, we could buff its counterplay.

But since it does self damage it’s not an effective tool to use to get people away from him like lucio’s boop or brig’s whipshot are at getting people away, since they already nerfed the damage and now the stun then what is the point of the ability, cause all it seems like is that the ability is a window for a free kill on the enemies part

Trying to push through a choke without a Rein is playing wrong? You’re right, no other tanks are viable against him but how is that balanced? Also adaptive shields do not block any form of cc, matrix doesn’t block it either. You can run from it all you want but he will just save it until your team needs to pressure the point and kills you all anyway.

Yes this! This would be amazing. I would love this rather than another tank get nickle and dimed to death.

What is counter play? More shields?

Not if you don’t play in a tight group.

Or stun Rein as he begins to shatter.

Or shoot him while he’s trying to shatter (yes, your team can kill him fast enough)

Or hide behind an object when he begins to shatter (apparently doesn’t work with the Payload?)

Or have someone with a defense or countering/move ult stay out of Reins range but close enough to still help the team if they get shattered (Zen, Lucio, Moira, Bap, I don’t know about brig).

Also, OW is a stun party anyway. Rein doesn’t even have the worst stun.

I never remember anything like that at the start of the game.

I was referring to the first time they ever adjusted his shatter hitbox because Pharahs and Genji’s who were very clearly off the ground were getting hit.

The end result was just a simple jump gave everyone immunity to it

See, that’s what I’m afraid of…I’m afraid rein is gonna get a nerf, cuz “this is too good.” Then, the community realizes “wait, that wasnt right. Okay its actually this” and they keep doing it until a hero is a mangled version of their former self.

I thought the tanks wanted the devs to stop all the CC, and team mates to play together with their tanks. lol…

This can be achieved with nerfing as well.

Increase the cast time and *poof*, there’s more counterplay.

How would you do that? Make more heroes like Orisa with an on-demand CC immunity? Allow Genji to reflect it? Make a hero who powers up if subjected to an ult? Give Sym an anti-CC turret?

But how you do it?

I have to remember that buff the counter to fix a problem is not a good idea. Just remember briggite, mei or reaper.

Then that’s V2 already, though I might be confusing release with beta, tbh. :thinking: . But very early they increased the hitbox because of videos of Zennys not getting hit just stand in a corner (not even jumping!).
And then went completely overboard and it had this huge airclearance all of a sudden.

…literally buff orisa and sigma…no one, NO ONE ever complained about earthshatter until those 2 were nerfed. So, presumably, as long as people who want shatter nerfed aren’t just crybabies, buffing the 2 to make them viable competition to rein SHOULD solve the issue, right?

Also absolutely let genji deflect it that would be absolutely hilarious.

there are usually two sometimes three ways to get into the point. One is usually not covered. Double shield is better sometimes because there is a long distance the rein has to travel to get to the orisa. If u push with double shield pushing into the reinhardt is not a good idea. You have ranged damage. Dive should’nt funnel through a choke. Instead it should go on the off angle and set up dives from highground. Mobility can get u to a highground that escapes rein cleave and shatter. It is easy to play around if you know what u r doing. This idea of pressuring point is just not a thing if u play dive or double shield. Instead you either poke from range or dive and get out fast

Yes this is a serious and valid concern, obviously i don’t think he should be dumpstered or nerfed but the bugs around the corners and payloads have been a problem for years and are still unfixed, it has consistency errors all over.
