The report system is kinda nuts lately

I just turn off the communications in the game and only focus on the objective itself and keeps me out of trouble.

I do not spam or request “healing” or “group up with me”. i just stay with the team and only engage the objective if the rest of the team is there. If not. im staying backlines and letting them do their own thing.

Since we have leaver bans now in place. I play the backlines to my team and watch my healers. Even if my team is feeding. I regroup when they wipe, or just eat the ult with them, and if there IS a play that I see that I could make. I IGNORE it now. Since someone complains about it or gets mad either way.

The game socially punishes people a ton now, and so let it be. People want quality matches in this game, they have to stop pressing the report button each time they think their team mate is doing something which they think is “bad” despite it more than likely provides just that little edge a person needs in order to win.

Depends. Is it the first few games of a session or 4-5 hours in and it’s the sixth or seventh one where I’ve got dps that can’t hit their way out a paper bag?

Like that’s the thing, this game is more context based than many want to believe.

I’m sorry that you get frustrated and take it out on your teammates, but expect to be reported and silenced for it, as you already have been.

I shouldn’t have to pretend to be a good sport about a clear team disparity. I’m not saying YOU think I should either, don’t get me wrong.

But with the penalties and the stricter report system it seems to be that’s what the team is saying.

It’s not as if, after a certain number of “bad” games in a row, you’re somehow magically entitled to take it out on other players and be toxic lol, I don’t honestly think you were implying that, but that’s sort of how it sounded.

And to be clear, I don’t think you deserved the report nor do I think you’re a generally toxic player. I’m not over here getting some sick sense of glee like “yay! Another player reported! Be gone troll!” lol

Because I can understand how the phrase “I see why your tank left” could be open to interpretation. You could’ve just been referring to the over all atmosphere of the match and thinking “wow what a @#&! show, I see why the tank left”.

But imagine you’re the ‘lone survivor’ on that team. The rest of the team starts leaving, and you think “you know what? Screw this! I’m going to stick this out and do my best and see what happens!” and then another player back fills in and says “I see why your tank left”. I’d have an easy time understanding why that might make them upset.

That’s literally all it was. I don’t go for people jugulars on a personal level on this game. I’ve been there, I’ve had my girlfriend harassed to the point she won’t touch it anymore.

I know better. But seems like the smallest transgression gets peoples Jimmie’s rustled anymore.

Your argument reminds of of the arguments that “diff” defenders use. They also like to claim that saying “support/dps/tank diff” isn’t toxic because it isn’t singling out the person by name or stating they “sucked”, but it’s 100% obvious what was meant. Let’s be real, it’s toxic. Don’t pretend you’re not.

You don’t have to pretend to be a good sport, just don’t be a bad sport. This is not something I should have to tell you. Neither should Blizzard have to tell you this. Your parents/guardians should have taught you this by now, but since apparently they haven’t, there is a system in place to teach.

Okay, not saying you intended it in a bad way, but seriously man? I’m gonna ask you, politely this one time, please leave my parents out of this. Alright? Not a card to play with me.

Conversing with the enemy team and laughing together about your tank being bad shouldn’t be a reportable offense lol. At that point we are effectively punishing people with life on death row for the equivalent of laughing at someone in the playground

Where is the layers to the system? Why is someone spewing racism put in the same pool as someone trash talking a teammate. They are vastly different crimes yet get the same punishment. That isnt how justice works

If the tank was actually bad they deserve to be laughed at. If they weren’t usually the enemy team are the first ones to be like ‘well actually you werent too hot yourself’

Its a ‘gg what else could i have done’ moment. Does it need to be said? No. But does that mean it shouldn’t be allowed to be said? Also no.

The report system is binary when we live in a non-binary world. Time for blizzard to join the modern 21st century

I don’t agree with the rules, I’m just here to help explain them lol

Obviously the “why” is because he thinks the team is bad. And the why is pointless, you are asking him to justify why his speech shouldn’t be banned by default.

Banning people for no reason because you can’t handle basic speech is anti social. Since they decreased the amount of reports needed to automatically suspend someone barely anyone has been using VC.

There’s just no need to ever tell your teammates that they suck. Or to inform the other team that, “hey my teammates suck, I can see why their tank left.” Like, what is the point of that? If the system removes this from the game, then I’m all for the game being “anti social.”

This is good, since 90% of VC before was just used for toxicity.

Saying “what’s the point of that” isn’t justification for banning.

You are making up false statistics, it was already very rare and they decreased the threshold because the community is fragile and will ask for more bans if they have a single toxic game no matter how aggressive the banning system is.

No, and saying “I had a bagel for breakfast,” is perfectly fine. Saying, “my team sucks,” is not though. I should not have to explain this to you

Hm… is typing just “useless” in chat before leaving the game considered as something to be reported for and be banned?

Absolutely anything can be reported.

Whether it is something that you can be banned for is completely up to Blizzard. This isn’t America.

This analogy makes no sense. People should not get banned for saying “my team sucks”, if you can’t take hearing that then don’t join vc. If someone is throwing and feeding then I’m not able to leave VC to solve the problem, I’m stuck playing with them. Yet you want to ban people for stating facts.

Yeah i felt that. Month ago had a bad day and decided to just test and report few players from enemy team randomly after loosing match ( they typed nothing in chat at all)
got TY for reporting the next day and after it
works as intended, great bliz! so now i understand all those players that got silenced and post threads here ( i never was myself)

Unfortunately, there are no arbitrators in international waters.

That isn’t far from the truth.
