Exactly, they stated it several times that they themselves want a diverse universe, even before the game came out.
But here are way too many people disrespect the wish of the devs but saying we are the one forcing them ¯\(ツ)/¯
A lot of threads started with “How about a character xy” These are just suggestions no demands. The devs dont have to listens to it but maybe some of those are fitting and then why not?
But people also jump on those threads if it is a dead sin to simply ask for a certain character.
