How are you a writer if there’s so little evil in you? Writers have to be. Crazy individuals and be sadistic AF

I can write evil without being evil. Understanding and feeling a point of view doesn’t mean agreeing with it or wanting it made real. If it was otherwise, someone like Tolkien would be as evil as Sauron, or CS Lewis wouldn’t be writing Christian fiction but rather satanic fiction. I hope that makes sense…

“Sigh”
You know Serenicus… you seem to be serious and fun at the wrong times, either that or you just don’t get my humour

Calling all writers sadistic is a joke that warrants a few chuckles and sarcastic responses in most writing communities I’m part of.

Well, if you look up Richard Wagner and Terry Goodkind you’ll see that effective artists CAN be depraved to the point of having no redeeming qualities. Also, while I am not evil I have some pretty FUBAR stuff in my books.

I guess also some qualities of emotion are harder to translate through with writing.

I mean, I myself have a novel idea in my head with a main protagonist being a serial killer who is a paramedic in her day job.

Another one whom one of the main protagonists is a hybrid of a fire demon and a vampire demon and was the child of unconsentual

Another one featuring the power to alter instincts in minds turning half the population into self sacrificing donkey’s almostl iterally

Yet I’m a happy person when I’m not tilted I promise XD

I want a story with Mercy as the protagonist. Something happy where nobody dies. Yes, it’s escapism, no, despite that I still do want it.

Don’t look at me, I don’t write happy escapism I write action and bittersweet escapism

If you are large in size or driving a huge SUV, you can reciprocate by flipping the bird back…lol

I’m joking…joking. It’s wrong, don’t do it  Just take a deep breath and ignore. Road rage is common these days so let’s not be part of the statistics.

I’m guilty of retaliating (an eye for an eye) in Competitive when people spew hate against me. Something I’m trying to curb.

It’s important to be attentive when driving. All these news about Tesla’s auto-pilot is scary. Seriously, people actually trust a car to drive by itself without any human input is baffling.

I got a shock when I saw a link to the Mercy Feedback thread hahaha. My heart sank for a moment

I’m a sucker for happy endings…lol, but someone needs to die or suffer (which is always the case).

That’s the reason why I hate Game of Thrones. They killed my favorite characters…

Sometimes in life I wish I’d do something crazy when I get abused, but yeah, road rage is how I know revenge is not really a good thing even when you get away with it. Even when I succumb to it and spectacularly leave the jerk in the dust after showing him the finger, I never feel good afterwards. I just feel rage and pain. People say nothing good comes from revenge, well, I think that’s not always true, (hi Nuremberg Trials!) but the rank-and-file jerk is normally not Hermann Goering or something.

You can be very attentive, but the other guy may prove to be too much. In both of these cases, I was in right of way driving on a high-speed road and the guy jumped out onto the road. You just have to hit the brakes fast enough, which so far in my life I’ve always managed to do.

Yeah, I was a pretty sad camper answering that post. The Mercy megathread is now permanently linked to us, too, and I am not entirely sure why or how, but I have no control over thread links despite being OP…

Yeah, I like happy endings too. I don’t think it’s possible to write a good story without conflict, death and sadness, but I think a storyteller’s main job is to make the reader relate to the character, and if the character fails and dies, that ruins the re-read value and leaves the reader feeling cheated.

Bethesda’s Skyrim has an expansion, Dawnguard, where despite the game’s general ascetism towards romance the main character is essentially the Dragonborn’s girlfriend, and Bethesda very controversially decided she could not be a marriage prospect, and the fanbase felt either furious or cheated. Most people were unhappy with the decision, but it is what it is. The voice actress in question became super famous, too.

Writing doesn’t just make the reader experience emotion, it also makes the writer experience emotion. You are the conduit through which emotion flows to your writing, so in a way you have the power to control what you feel generally by the means of what you write. You often say you’re not very happy, you might want to try to write complex stories that end well, it might make you feel better.

good morning everyone Easter tomorrow

I write happy endings but only after pain and suffering. Some of the most memorable sotlines all involved some hert wrenching heroic sacrifice.
