The New Tank is Too much

ramattra has block (not a resource) and shield to rotate nemesis form in brawl comps, dva has DM that eats everything (including healing) with some exceptions, etc

i dont understand what is so different about spike guard, it doesnt even slow the enemies that are stuck in it like pigpen. anybody can walk away from his spike guard because goes turtle mode

He doesn’t have shields and has high mobilty.

He’s going to need some sort of defense.

Yes I agree 75 is way too much. But we should say the same with Orisa, Dfist, and Hog.

All of which have gotten their own flack.

It’s the design of nothing but brawler tanks that are harmful, not Haz himself.

So you’d agree Defense matrix needs nerfs, yes?

Since she completely nullfies the damage, on a resource meter, and can still shoot back at any distance vs a small, easy to avoid AoE

I feel the exact same way. He’s too tanky and that’s specifically due to the mitigation on spikes.

Meanwhile his ability to confirm kills is pretty mediocre. Yes, he gets a lot of kills and damage, but he’s doing it through attrition since he survives so long. This clearly isn’t his design intent, since his combo-heavy kit is engineered to burst down squishies fast like JQ. Problem is that in actual practice, he can rarely do this through enemy sustain (to be fair, this could partly be a skill issue since he’s still a new hero).

I wouldn’t directly push his damage any higher though, otherwise a well executed combo will too frequently bypass enemy healing. But I could definitely see him getting faster fire rate and maybe +2 ammo.

This is just his trial run, you know he’ll be re-balanced before the ā€˜official’ release

  • Ramattra’s block is only good from the front, and is tied to Nemesis form which has an 8 second cooldown.
  • D.Va’s defense matrix absorbs most projectiles, but cannot absorb beams or melee attacks. It has clear weaknesses.

What’s different is that you can’t really punish him for making a bad play because there’s no cooldown. It’s almost always going to be available, similar to defense matrix.

Yes, because he has high mobility.

I’m not saying to gut the ability. I’m saying that 75% Damage reduction makes him impossible to kill, and similarly punish bad plays.

We should, but that’s whataboutism.

There’s no use in moaning about things they aren’t going to change.

No, because Defense Matrix does not reduce all incoming damage (except DoT effects). It only negates most projectiles, and only in front of D.Va.

i have no opinion of him really since i main sombra. i havnt really been paying attention to when i hack him as well… wonder if i cancel anything? anyways i mainly avoid him since im just after supports or squishies

now i bet hes really good against widow tho, i think i played widow one game just because someone went sombra and i remember he dove me and im like… aww crap

Hack cancels his block.

why would i not shoot him?

In going to have to keep in mind what default controls for hazard are. First thing I did was swap everything.

Block is on shift

Leap is on E (these 2 changes are how I have Doomfist set up. Slam was always ā€œeā€ to me from dpsfist days, so slam on shift felt super weird and I changed it day 1 when he tankified).

Spike wall is on right click (since, yknow. Those 2 are swapped and that’s all that’s left).

Good to know, will make sombra dangerous then if more know …

I know i make balls, dooms and sigma frustrated

Only 3 matches?
First time here?

If we ever get the Hazard & Doomfist duo I will definitively be confused if I’m allowed to shoot at any moment

So it’s like DVa, but less oppressive. I don’t see the problem here.
