Had a rein yesterday walk at my team backwards with his shield up to protect his team and when my dumb a** team and I ran at him he turned and shattered. Never been baited so hard in this game ever.
My main is pretty much tanks only, one of my alts is mostly tanks, but I flex a little, and another one is DPS and Support. Basically my third one is for when I’m tired of tanking.
I personally just play what i want when i want. Normally that means filling Support (with Ana, mostly, or Brigitte), or playing a tank like Zarya, Orisa, and Roadhog. Though i do also rather enjoy going DPS when i can, namely McCree, Sombra, and the new SYmm.
I haven’t played him in comp yet, but my initial knee-jerk reaction is that he is super high skill and that it is going to take some time to master him. For this reason, he may seem under-powered for a while, but that may just be because the learning curve is steep and not enough time has passed. I am imploring the community to give it some time before we make any judgments on his balance.
That said, I personally feel like you give up a lot when you take him over D.Va. That has more to do with D.Va than it does with Hammond though.
I agree that he’ll take some time to see what he’s really capable of, so i don’t think they should rush any buffs or changes to him.
I do feel, though, as an initial judgment that may change later, that he does seem a little weak regarding his health and primary fire, and feel, if they do decide to buff anything about him later, one of those two areas would most likely be the target, i.e. increasing ammo count, converting more health to armor, lowering the falloff, decreasing fire rate but increasing damage, things like that.
I like to practice all my roles to get them to the same level so I can flex better if need be. My tanks are low diamond and my DPS is high plat so they’re kinda catching up to my main SR
