The Match Maker Determines Your W/L

Yes you did:

Last time I checked, Blizz does not own “the internet”.

If you were only talking about their own data, I still invite you to tell me how they can predict any of this:

Another bonus question:
What about players being sick, hurt, etc.
Can the matchmaking know about that too?

Your welcome?

Your point was “they use more factors besides the known ones to make matches/teams”.
Then you quoted something completely unrelated.

Do you suffer from some kind of memory-condition?

Yes

And how exactly, using what stats, can they determine that.

Key thing to remember. The match maker does not have access to look at profiles. It just knows the MMR, if you’re in a group, and what the closest server is for you.

So, how, is it going to determine things like that.

senior devs part of the team that makes the matchmaker said that quite literally in an interview with Spilo - the matchmaker only knows your MMR and just puts players with as close MMR as possible together, with a constraint on difference between team A and team B’s MMRs

for reference…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_Ut8pCH9QM

They do have that information, and even much more than that, possibly things you and I would not imagine they cared to collect. The matchmaker is not looking at these currently when making matches, perhaps it will in the future

It increases difficulty the more you win. You can feel it only with very high winrate, and it starts somewhere in 65-70% wr range. And god save you from having over 85% wr, you will no longer play vs players you will play vs the MM. And it is no matter the rank it is all about your winrate. You can be GM playing silver account to diamond, and after 10 wins in a row you will feel like you play in masters+ when reality is that you are just in mid-plat atm.

Other rumors about 50-50 is just that you reached your ceiling and have to improve to rank up further. 50-50 is absolutely normal in 1% games (gm+). If you have 50-50 in mid-ranks, well, don’t blame the mm when you have plenty of room to improve.

When you win games your rating goes up, which means youre playing with and against higher rated players. And higher rated players tend to be better.

That is how skill based matchmaking is supposed to work.

Doesnt happen. If you win 10 games in a row and are in mid plat, you play with ~mid plat players.

RANK: GM1
ACCOUNT SILVER-to-DIAMOND
Feeling plat like masters+ having 95% winrate after 40 games in a row on that account.

Another account, right after, is mid-plat to diamond5, hardstuck (50-50 winrate on that account) - games feel like silver

Yeah, i wouldnt know about your feelings about matches, but what you described is not what the matchmaker does.

No i dont trust your boosting experience over the developers who have described, over video, quite well how the matchmaking works.

Do you really think “developers” know better or be transparent than a dedicated player who makes profit of their game? What a pink world =)

They know because they’ve developed the system. You dont know anything.

Because if Blizz was good enough to determine how well players work with others, matchmake to allow synergy between mains, and all that, they would be leagues above any other dev team in existence. They’d also have to account for interpersonal relationships, especially in high ranks. Put me on Questron’s team and I’m absolutely 100% going to throw the game because I just do not like the dude. Even though he mains Sombra and I main Tracer, so we’re technically a very good combo.

And we know factually that they are not on that level. No one is, because that would take an entire dev team of superhuman intelligence

Anyone good enough to boost in the first place is good enough not to believe conspiracy theories from Silver.

Also, it’s an insane choice to admit to a form of cheating on a public forum.

I’m a dedicated player.

Plat does not feel like Masters+

Also good idea admitting to a reportable offence lol

mate take off the foil hat, the devs arent aliens controlling your comp games from space

THANK YOU! Just in another thread someone trying to make the match maker over simplified, which I see is a trend on the forums. The devs say it’s overly complex.

Some cases we should listen to the devs but in the simple cases we shouldn’t. “It just uses a single number”, don’t listen to them…

Putting people in a lobby is one thing but the missing key no one chats about is the team balancer… which I think is the overly complex part, or at least more complex than a single number.

That’s just something you’ve popped up into the existence out of thin air.
All they use is the mmr.

“Balancing teams” is part of matchmaking process. No need to come up with separate system for it.

And we know how they do it, since they’ve told us how matchmaking works, which includes how they balance teams.
Hint: they just use mmr to balance teams.

My only Activision blizzard products is overwatch. I only play on console. All they’d collect on me is my performance each match

If you’re saying ow has ebmm because of your feelings and assumptions… Your argument falls over pretty fast.

Ebmm isn’t used in OW. It wouldn’t work.

My record after 609 comp games this season (the most I ever played in a season):

304 wins, 304 losses, 1 draw

Maybe 25% of those could have gone either way

I agree that some gold games feel way more sweaty and harder to win than diamond games

by placing you in matches where everyone is roughly the same skill. yes.
