Only map introductions and bug reports have been addressed since February. That gives you the insight on where their current thoughts are with the mode. They’re no where to be found.

There was a long post, very much focused on competitive, in June: Groups and Matchmaking in Overwatch. Scott does have a bad habit of posting these types of discussions in general though.
Don’t be surprised that Blizzard, much like most companies, are taking on more business than they can handle, due to greed, and thus they rely on the community to do the work for them such as posting responses to threads, reporting threads, etc.
