The Hanzo Changes

They wanted to make Hanzo more “consistent” and they did. Now, you have to be more spamming than ever. Plus, Hanzo is going to be luck based when you try aiming for the head. I’ve rather nerfed Storm Arrow than this.

You really have no room to complain about this when heros like Junkrat and Pharah exist

Who always have to hit at least 2 shots with much much slower weapons

How so? Even in his short his arrows were dodged. The power fantasty with him is archery and one shotting, is not? Bow feels more like a bow now.

Oof
This is so embarrassing to see
Even most plays understand Hammond is an extremely high skill tank. So I really question how a delusional fool who refuses to face facts makes it to plat(aka, you)

You say it is nothing but contradict yourself in the same sentence by explaining how there is a difference

15 m/s off his arrow is not really a nerf. To players who are only used to his new firing speed, yes it is a nerf, but to players like me who played Hanzo from all the way in the scatter days, are happy with his arrow speed is, it actually makes it easier to land shots, to us, it feels like a somewhat buff. That’s the point I’m making.

Yes because explosive weapons are just like precision based weapons right?

Pharah and Junkrat are meant to dish out Aoe damage

What are you talking about? You don’t think hanzo mains have played hanzo before the rework? They’re not happy about this because not only is it a net nerf, you have to relearn how their main weapon’s projectile speed works and the limits of their effective range. I don’t mind the change too much myself but to say it’s not a nerf isn’t true at all when enemies who are aware of you at mid to long ranges have an easier time dodging shots.

As I stated before, if you’re trying to constantly only use LONG range, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. His rework moved him from being a long range sniper, into being a medium to close range tank buster. He has always BEEN a tank buster, scatter could one shot Orisa or Zarya with ease. Then they reworked him to have storm arrow, and now he’s far more consistent in being a tank buster. This arrow speed he has now, is much much easier to manage, and doesn’t take very long to get it down.

It is obviously a nerf! It is a 16% decrease to his projectile speed.
If this happened to any other hero, you would automatically call it a nerf but I guess because it is happening to Hanzo, it doesn’t count.

That is just stupid! Obviously it doesn’t make landing shots easier! Do I really need to explain why?

However a lot of Hanzo players, me included preferred his old projectile speed because landing shots was more satsifying and gave more nuance to the hero.

I like the speed changes. I can play hanzo again lmao

I’ve already been playing with his new arrow speed, and it took 2 games until I was back doming people with ease, it’s a very small adjustment and more in line with his original arrow speed before the buff.

Try not to come off so condescending next time, please.

Yeah, I don’t really get how that’s a “dig” at me (maybe the private profile thing, I guess)

Sorry I don’t meet your “standards”. Maybe it would look better if I was a “Level 13” PC player, in GM or Masters, with a lvl 1 Endorsement rating. Because we all know that’s the common Widow/Hanzo profile, no?

Yeah, mate, sorry I’m not some low level smurf that is toxic towards their teammates because “they’re trash, bro”. I just have the one account, where I play all roles and am nice/helpful, so people endorse me. I know it’s the “in thing” to be a toxic jerk, and have 6 accounts at 4 different SR levels, almost all under level 100. But that’s just not me.

Sorry to disappoint :man_shrugging:

It’s quite clear you’ve never played either of these heros if you actually think their AOE is useful

It’s not, at all

While I don’t agree with Depression for most of what he said, it has made it alot easier for me to hit shots with Hanzo
(Keeping in mind I have ~1k hours on Junkrat though)

That doesn’t change what their purpose is.

You should expect this, if you were doming people with Hanzo pre-rework then this nerf is just a revert for you. This nerf actually makes Hanzo’s projectile speed identical to pre-rework speeds.

All it achieves is making Hanzo slightly less consistent but obviously if you are a decent player you will still be fully capable of popping off with him. Also like I said its a revert to his pre-rework speed, so only taking you 2 games is not surprising especially if you played Hanzo a lot pre-rework.

Fair point.

And what you said still hasn’t proved me incorrect nor does it hold any merit to the conversation at hand.

I also find it funny you think something being able to headshot apparently makes it “precision based”

There’s alot more precision required in hitting meaningful shots with Pharah and Junk than Hanzo. Espcially Junk since his unnecessary projectile size nerf.

I use to secondary main hanzo before his rework but after that I kinda dropped him altogether. Now that his projectile speed is back, I feel much more confident playing him.
