I feel this on a very personal level since theres literally no point playing genji into comp in this game’s current state. but yet my dumb self still does it anyways and picks genji

The sad part about this is how this alone sounds good on paper for genji and should favor him. But instead he struggles to deal with that with the low and inconsistent dps and on top of that: burst heals and peeling in this game.

honestly theres no reason in talking to a genji hater, even when you want to just make genji ok and not meta. a lot of us feel genji is underpowered in this current game’s state and want him better to the point hes average all around, and not so heavily reliant on an old arabic lady to just work. even one miniscule buff such as “alright yall, lets make our secondary fire rate to 0.7499999999999999999s,” i bet you some would throw a fit.
I mean look at the doomfist players who only just want their uppercut reverted. People were throwing a huge fit over something to make a hero more fluent. We want genji to have that same treatment but alas, “mobility heroes deserve all the hate” apparently because why not.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think superbuffed Genji was wildly overblown by the forums. He was OP, but not as people said, people literally thought he could 1v6 alone. If 2 buffs really turned his PR to 1% then he probably wasn’t the monster you thought he was.

He still required good effort to make him work against most powercrept heroes, I wouldn’t even say he was OP. He was just enabled by all the heroes around him
the only op thing about him during that time was how quick he could get ult. if they were to significantly nerf the ult charge, genji wouldve been fine. people found it op in terms of this during that time:
Genji base kit buffs made him from below average to average/good. Then ult BY ITSELF without being touched turned it from average to good (good to op with the commonality of dmg boosted blade)
EDIT: From what ive seen, people who claim genji to be op RIGHT NOW is usually their own personal issue of not hitting mobile targets. Since mobility itself used in the right hands is literally a counter to the lower elo players. And what annoys me is that i want my genji to be better in mid and higher ranks instead of being blade bot boy to be somewhat useful for 5% of the game and 95% of the game to play farming simulator. But being told that hes op and broken and deserves more nerfs ruins the mood for the rest of us when they cant clearly see the whole picture of genji’s state honestly…

heres to hoping they at least look at genji again in the next exp card perhaps this thursday or next thursday before the holidays. hopefully there is one that helps genji and other niche heroes honestly ;-;

Wonder how it’ll be like. Would be nice to see. Although off topic but, for the halloween skin, I was hoping there would be a new ult voiceline on how genji’s oni and baihu skin are? I wonder if that new skin would have the same ult line treatment with how oni and baihu is. I was sad how karasu-tengu skin didnt have a changed ult line.
