No offense, but they need to apologize to Roadhog mains before getting to Sombra mains. At least when she isn’t banned, you have a viable hero to play.

- orisa mains because they created a rework that her mains can sleep through the game and nobody will notice, and if their dog grabs the controller, still nobody would notice. Zzzzz (and everyone hates playing against her)
- Reaper mains for not getting the rework they were promised while scummy sombra hogged 6 of them already and wants another one!! Greedy or what?
- Everyone not a widow main for taking up so much developer time reworking maps to try to make them playable with widow in the game instead of spending 5 minutes reworking widow so she is not as cancerous as sombra
- tank players for creating counterwatch and making it so even less people want to play tank

her main issue is how good invis is, look at psyelocks only lasting 3 seconds with a 15 second cooldown, sombra can wait her whole invis out and gets it back in 1 second with translocator
This should be the end-goal of the upcoming rework. If they go the Sombra:76 route, she’s basically soft deleted.
Silencing has to be removed and be exclusive to her EMP. It’s cancer.
There is a ton of other non-obnoxious utilities that go well with the hacker theme.
With the way things are going, the might end up doing that.
Sombra was just butchered in the altar of OW2 launch PR. She was made a bursty assassin, something that OW1 devs intentionally avoided for obvious reasons (they were WoW devs, they know stealth+burst is a bad idea).
You are not supposed to like what the enemy does to you. Sorry, but hack even at max duration was not an issue other than for gimmicky heroes like DF and Ball.
All you are complaining about only became an issue when Sombra was given assassin burst in OW2, something that everyone with a brain knew was going to be an issue, specially while also nerfing defense dps heroes who normally kept her in check, like Mei Sym and Torb.

Reworks change the gameplay loop of a character. She’s had 6, if we’re going off of what drastically changed her playstyle (I’m not listing every change/all the ways her playstyle changed):
- Launch OW1 Sombra → No more hacking healthpacks + hacking passives
- No more hacking healthpacks → 2 second cooldown on hack interruptions
- OW1 infinite stealth and infinite translocator.
- Infinite Stealth & Translocator → OW2 launch
- OW2 launch → Stealth on passive + Virus
- Stealth on passive + Virus → Stealth and translocator on the same cooldown
Then there is the 7th, incoming one.
Simple buffs don’t shift the playstyle around that much. The things above shifted her playstyle a lot. Most of the community agrees there were multiple reworks. We’re getting 3 in OW2 alone. And they’re not OTPs for calling it out, because with each rework, you had more players dropping her to play someone else.
Yeah, this has always been the call. Stealth should pretty much be an engage tool, a short duration on a longer cooldown that effectively punishes you for using it at the wrong time. And with stealth brought back in line, sombra can get buffs to actually being in the fight.
Stealth shackled to TP is almost as bad as permastealth, it forces a short CD timer that let’s her spend 80% of the game invisible doing nothing until the perfect moment arrives. It’s boring to wait around for that, it’s objectively bad because your team is down a player, and it sucks for the enemy team who only sees sombra when she pops out to gank them at the worst possible moment.
Change hack to mimic what Hulk does. Hack disables you fully. You can’t do anything for X seconds. You can’t be harmed by anyone, but Sombra. And you’re released the moment you are attacked by Sombra.

I can’t believe the words “barely cancels ultimates” were actually typed into existence. At least your character got reworks (plural btw) and wasn’t put on hold for 2 years just to be silently canceled.
The only reason your character even got a single rework was because of how annoying she is to play against and how hated she is by literally everyone who doesn’t play Sombra.

The real tragedy of the devs was introducing her in the first place and pretending to her mains that she was ever an okay character to have in this game. Prolonging the suffering is the biggest crime they ever did -and seemingly continue to do.
Today I banished Wolverine and accidentally got behind them and, you know. I feel as if being forced to play Thor has increased my toxicity. I have literally never done that before, but I was FEELING myself in the one game where I got to play my main.
Make her utility strong and damage low. Virus is a virus and needs to be removed from her kit. Her invisibility uptime also needs to be reduced but compensated by something else.
Make Sombra great again.
- Ana is not nearly as hated as Sombra: ban rates
- Ana is a very predictable hero, unlike stealth lady
- Having an Ana icon means nothing, I played as much Sombra as I did Ana since OW2
- Justifying the cancer that is silencing shows that you haven’t learned much from the past.

i may not play sombra again depending on the rework. if she is totally different or clunky then yea i may play her less or not at all
i thought i would never play moira again till they reverted that necrotic orb thing. although you never know it could have been better if they kept on tooling with it… but they just scrapped it lol
there is only black and white for video games. either you dont like it and dont play it or you enjoy it and play it. also the love and hate thing but thats every video game. i didnt enjoy world of warcraft enough for me to keep playing so i quit that game
i may quit overwatch as well someday… am kind of getting bored a tad. maybe until something better comes along but marvel rivals aint it. i do like it better than i did paladins. i wonder if any other hero shooter that is similar would dismantle both these games… will be a while?

It’s because it’s not a balance issue. It’s a hero design issue. She needs to be made extremely weak, moved to support where she can’t hack enemies (instead: upload buffs to Thier teammates) or just removed from the game.
If one of these doesn’t happen, she will always be hated because of her hack + opportunist, combod with the incredibly cheap and easy translocator/stealth.
If I could nerf current sombra in just one way without a full on rework, I would double her translocator cd. Stupid character gets away for basically free because this things cd is too low.
