It just confirmed the impression I got from S76 from the start. He’s extremely reserved and acts like his job is the only thing that matters. He was overall very reluctant to talk about or reveal anything of how he’s been, what he’s been up to, and what he hopes for. He just keeps himself focused on his work.
It took an injury and a friend prodding at him to get him to open up even a little bit. The fact that he had the pictures show that despite how focused he appears on things, he’s still very human and still clings onto the past.
He’s human. That’s what the story proved.
But Chu completely ruined it with his, “Hey guys, guess what!?! 
”
How S76 would be revealed as gay is exactly how I imagined it would have been from him. Just it is what it is, and move on. Not… basically how Chu announced it.
