That little dopamine drop when the bar went all the way across and you got a loot box (despite the knowledge that it would probably contain nothing but dupes) - gone
The same from opening a loot box - gone
Getting excited about new skins and event skins - gone
And now even… getting excited about new hero.
I played several games on the day ramata dropped and never mind not being able to pick him, he wasn’t even in any of the games.
Such fail…
I find myself playing overwatch much less often than i used to…and when I do, I’m playing it for a lot less time
(As you are aware, and why you are running paid YouTube ads)
So probably for the first time, a new hero is going to drop, and me and others won’t even bother loading up the game
These hit me harder than a slap from The Incredible Hulk. I was really excited from Ram, then it occurred to me that I wouldn’t be playing him for a long time. I simply can’t grind for him, and since I have no interest in the battle pass, I ALSO have lost my interest for the brand new character, too.
Well you can blame the overreaction to LB’s on other titles’ iterations that resulted in the decent examples of LB’s being proactively dismantled.
That being said, they absolutely have a place in OW2.
Yeah I do kinda feel this. I see some of the new skins, and I’m not really as into them as Blizzard probably wants me as a consumer to be.
I may not have participated much in OW1 within the last 2 years, but I certainly eagerly jumped on the event trailers as they came out just to see what was being released.
I disagree on this one, while there are a few gates to pass through, new heroes are far more obtainable than the other aspects of this title as shown before.
In Overwatch 1, playing a game that was going horribly didn’t make me quit mid game because I knew if I just stuck it out I’d get a bit of XP and then soon a lootbox, possibly a new cosmetic or at least a bit of currency. Now if the tank is chasing a Tracer around the map and not getting on point to cap I just leave. I’m not sticking around to get a bit of XP towards a BP tier that’s locked behind a paywall.
All of the BP is just bloated with useless cosmetics too. Trinkets and those stupid ‘pose with a slice of pizza’ things (I have never see one used in game, not even sure what they’re called), I’ve seen emotes, those are kinda fun, but the stand there and project a pile of weights on your hand? Why?
I liked having the events, getting new skins, waiting til the last day and then buying any missing skins with the currency, and usually I played the game so much that I’d have gotten all of the cosmetics from lootboxes anyways and then I’d have more currency for the next event if needed.
Now I’m just playing a few games before I simply get bored of it. I see no real reward. Most of my friends have left the game because they too have lost interest in it, and playing alone isn’t that fun.
The game is free, and you also want all the cosmetics for free too. Then Blizzard needs to rely on pixie dust and unicorn farts to keep the lights on.
We can talk about how crazy the pricing is (I personally have never bought a damn thing in there), and heroes should absolutely never have been locked in the Battle Pass. But expecting everything for free in a free-to-play game is just absurd.
Nope because I play monthly for things that are essential to me. Also
A lie. If this were true, you wouldn’t have to pay a single dollar after one year. And there’d be an option to just do a one time $60 purchase. Both options would be consumer friendly.
No, they want you to pay perpetually. They want your money forever and they sabotaged Overwatch to get it.
I don’t actually. I just want all the characters free since the characters are essential.
Or the money they made off of diablo immortal. Crazy idea, right? I need to be locked up for my own mental well being to suggest that developers use money they make to support the game. Instead I Should say “Bobby earned that yacht! He needs two more, so pay up!”.
Yep. Mystery Heroes is my go to after my daily challenges are done, and I’ve played Rammatra a few times already, and I’m not even close to unlocking him yet.
