Thankyou blizzard! wrecking ball finally buffed omg

They are buffing ball and other tanks because tank players are quiting in droves without tank players there is no game period. Who said ball is not allowed to be meta ??? stupid statement. Sombra yeh she can get a nerf but ball takes real skill unlike GIGAHOG and stupid zarya. To be honest sigma is the one who needs to be nerfed absolutly stupid hero.

These Ball buffs aren’t good. They’re just playing catch-up from the S9 health buffs. Nobody asked for Minefield buffs.

His ā€˜rework’ was like two, small QoL changes.

50% knockback resistance on +25% crit resistance vs tanks nerfs him into literally every other tank.

Ball needs a gun buff and a boop buff to make him even close to viable.

Yet no metal DPS has yet figured out how to dive with him. Ofc you’re not gonna see his value if you pick poke every single time you get a Ball on your team.

No, 50% against Boop CC. That does nothing for his worst counters (Mag nade, hack, sleep) that will still ravage him.

His damage combo before did 150 when a character like Genji had 200 hp. That’s 75% of his HP gone from one combo. His damage combo now does 160 against Genji with 250 HP which is only 64% of his HP from the same combo. It is objectively less damage than before.

The passive health change is good for him, but not good for the game. It will make playing against Ball a nightmare because of how quickly he can get back into fights (which was never a problem they had to fix because it’s a drawback for being able to move fast and have no head hitbox).

The knockback change is the only change that is actually useful for him because of how easy it is to avoid mines. Though I think, depending on how it knocks you around, that even this could just boop players out of his minefield entirely if they get too much vertical.

They couldn’t come up with a decent rework so it looks like they’re going to overbuff him.

I love Ball and he’s one of the few reasons I still play this game, but I really hope he doesn’t become meta. Some heroes should always remain niche imo.

Yeh i agree he definatly needs his primary guns buffed he just does no damage and its very clear. He really does need a damage buff its crazy i feel like im shooting pillows half the time.

You do know that Ball players also have a team, and that Sombra can’t translocate across the map anymore? And that a single point of damage, from Hammonds weapons for example, would prevent her from cloaking and running away?

Ball player here, these are gonna be neat but they can still just pick sombra/cree/brig/etc and you’re done lol.

I’m afraid that these new buffs will result in a net nerf once they realize how strong they are…

I hope they don’t though… seems like he’s going to be incredibly impactful for at last half a season

I used to play Ball into Sombra all the time… I can’t remember a single occasion where Sombra had the upper hand in team fights. Especially without her ult. If she hacked me it would get less value because I could still play behind their team. If I play behind their team then their team has to turn around to fight me and they will get hard focused by my team.

This is true, but I don’t expect Blizzard to take a meaningful look at the Counterwatch problem, so I just take what I can get and enjoy it with the knowledge it won’t last longer than a season, maybe a season and a half if I’m lucky.

Part of the issue with him is if you buff him a bit for most ranks, the pros just decimate with him because they have access to so much and are masterful in how they are able to play him. Uncareful gun buffs would probably do that. But I think there’s a space for a happy middle ground.

I’ll have to get my hampterclaws on the buffs they gave him but as I suspect, it won’t do much for most Ball players, esp not with the other tank buffs. They’re making many tanks better and kinda leaving him behind, yet again.

What usually happens is you get hacked and the enemy team blows you up.

That’s why I don’t like to hard focus the entire enemy team when Sombra is in play.

Yeatle is the best ball player in the world and even he is struggling and getting destroyed. Yeatle only does well when he has a team willing to help him and he said this in one of his recent videos. without a whole team willing to help you ball is trash and everyone knows this hence why he is getting GIGA buffed because the amount of counters he has is rediculous and now with the 20% dps passive and hitbox buff its impossible to play ball into a enemy team.

Good, he is a the most abnoxious character to deal with. An insane health pool with insane mobility will need a lot of counters

The lubrication for my Wrecking balls joints is the tears of people who cannot shoot a massive circle and the red grease they end up leaving behind in my wake.

In all seriousness though I’m still getting used to being able to wind in the tether to go even faster. I gotta say his effectiveness against certain large meatshield tanks with armor got pretty bad now and no matter how many times I do a quick u-ey to drop extra shield on my DPS while I loop around for a flank smack doesn’t seem to help a lot.

It’s kinda brand new along with his shield sharing. It’s a massive game changer in how he moves, displaces, and routes.

One thing I’m trying REALLY hard to learn is how to 180 back boop people off overpasses. Tether under while going towards them, run under while reeling in and picking up speed and if you do it right you smack them back into the fight without wasting a PD and with almost no way for them to see it coming.

Someone posted a really good video of all the new stuff he can do (and the revival of an old tech you used to be able to do before the tether timer)
