Seriously thank you for finally starting to address this broken mess of a character, a sniper that almost has no weaknesses nor counter play but she has a mobility option and can 1 shot from 10000000 miles away with absolutely 0 risk. Honestly this is a good start it’s a slap on the wrist but this nerf was DEFINITELY needed, sorry but being hard to play is not free pass to be busted.

She doesn’t, genji/Winston are a$$, dva might be better, Hammond was the only one who can actually do anything but teams will use ALL their resources to save their widow because they know this broken mess of a character can carry, she needs WAY harder counter play and more weaknesses.

Winston is a hard counter. Genji is a hard counter. Hammond… He is extreamly hard counter, she can do nothing to him. If team is protecting their teammate u shouldn’t be able to kill him, oterwise that would be broken, at least for tanks.

Genji/Winston are currently bad , oh wow u 1 decent counter so sorry to hear that… meanwhile characters like have like 6, but god forbid widow sees anymore decent counter play.

They are good against her. Sorry for Winston and Genji not being meta but truth is… They can kill her rly fast and she cant do nothing solo against them (against Winston and Hammond, Genji can be outplayed).
Well mei has even less counters then widow so… Yea, some heroes have even less dont worry.

I play a lot of DF and if you’re good enough he can be a great counter to her. She’s so easy to dominate once you get in close.

I have posted how that statement you just made is extremely false many many times.
Overwatch is fast-paced arcade first person shooter. More in the same vein as Call of duty, unreal tournament, quake, Counter-Strike, etc. Than a Sniper Elite.
And she is weak compared to snipers in those games.
If you are talking about the few ultra realistic true life war simulators that try to be as real as possible then they are not like Overwatch in the least.
Widow cannot quickscope like every other sniper can.
Widow needs to charge up her shots are there snipers don’t
Other snipers fire rate is faster than Widow.
Other snipers do not have to deal with endless shields , barriers, and burst healing.
Other snipers have way better secondaries than her SMG. I rather have a precise hard-hitting handgun any day.
The way Overwatch characters move , they are way harder to hit than other FPS games because OW doesn’t have accelerated based movement like the majority of first person shooter games.
Other snipers can one shot you even with a body shot.
Her grapple that is on a very long cool down is not as useful as other tools that other snipers have, like translocators, jetpacks, traps, radar, etc etc.
Widow will lose badly if she was ever any deathmatch versus snipers from other action based FPS games.

Huge overexaggeration but I am also very glad to see the Widow nerf. The character was a design mistake and Ashe, a well designed sniper, makes that more clear than ever.

Since when is a sniper that can two shot a good design? If the majority of snipers in first person shooter games for decades have been able to 1 shot without issue.

Because this isn’t a traditional FPS , widow gets away with so much. In TDM style fps picks matter but in a game where there’s an objective to plat the value of picks is EXTREMELY high and it’s to easy for widow to get multiple picks free. Ashe is balanced. She’s not loftier but she’s very viable while widow is a broken mess.

why are you grasping at straws to prove your point? You are taking examples from multiple games and combining them to prove why other snipers fair better than widow’s. You can’t make an argument that widow sucks compared to every other game, and then go on and combine your examples. Unless all of your examples are coming from 1 specific game then I’ll give you that.

Any sniper from the games I mentioned would have no trouble embarrassing Widow in a 1V1 arena type deathmatch.
OW is really different from the majority of shooter games tho. It markets itself as such, and the generic, dime-a-dozen character who oneshots you from across the map in a game that prides itself on its cool and unique abilities really detracts from the fun. There are already a million Widows in many other FPS’s.
