Tank players who are your favorites?

Rein and Ball are my two favorites. I play a myriad of the other tanks for fun too though. I’m not really a fan of Doomfist or Dva though.

Ram and Zarya are my usual suspects. OW1 Orisa was my most played tank and Ram’s the closest thing to that, but Zarya’s overtaken him due to the mid-s10 patch.

Sigma’s a rung below them. I like him, he’s fun, but… I dunno. I guess it’s the Winston and Rein matchups? If you can rely on your teammates then it’s all good, but as a metal rank miracle, I don’t always have that luxury. It’s not like Zarya’s good against those two, either, but I still feel less helpless somehow.

I don’t really play any of the other tanks. For some of them, it’s because I find them so very dull, such as Rein. For others, it’s because they don’t scratch the hero fantasy itch, such as JQ.

Favorites : Rein, Ram, Queen
Like : Winston, Doom, Zarya
Neutral : Mauga, Orisa, Sigma, Hog.
Dislike : Ball, D.va.

Thats personally for playing with though, doesnt mean i necessarily dislike playing against or their kits though, i just happened to not play them that much, as for how i think about their current kits, thats another story.

Rienhardt. This has been my main since the early beta. Nothing beats a good old massive melee weapon in a gun fight. He may not have the best utility or being meta but when it works it feels great.

Rein is my favorite when I can play him. As for tanks I like and can actually play regularly, that’d be Queen, Ram, and Sigma.

Slightly distinct category of tanks I want to like, but they’re either very boring/easily countered/just unethical: Mauga, Zarya.

Wow so many people in this thread spelled Reinhardt wrong . The only answer.

Doom, Ball (less so in OW2), Sigma (less so in OW2).

  • Doom is fun because high mobility and a cycle that’s purely dependent on timing/positioning.
  • Ball is fun because high mobility and the requirement of having good engage/disengage discipline.
  • Sigma used to be fun because of how important his cycling was in OW1. Playing Sigma felt like you were a composer, matching the your abilities to a strict time signature.

Here’s my list, in descending order:

  1. D.Va
  2. Reinhardt
  3. Mauga
  4. Wrecking Ball
  5. Rammatra
  6. Junker Queen
  7. Zarya

Mauga would be #2 but without any shielding, he is very vulnerable to attack.
